"We had a lovely stay in one of the Visionary King Elite rooms, the hotel has been nicely renovated and didn’t feel like a motel. The grounds have been nicely landscaped and are well taken care of with a grassy outlook out on the water. Everyone we encountered that worked there were friendly. The restaurant and coffee shop were great, the food was excellent and I would highly recommend it, nicely decorated and comfortable, with lots of seating both inside and outside, along with outdoor games available. There are other options for food a short drive away also. It’s very easy to park very close to, if not outside of, your room. Check in was busy but the receptionist was very efficient so there wasn’t a long wait. Our room was spacious and nicely presented and mostly clean, but there were a couple of areas that had room for improvement. The main room rug and floor could have been better cleaned. There were some black hairs on the rug and dirty marks on the wooden floor, and the shower room door & wall needed to be washed as there were marks on it - nothing was that terrible that it needed immediate attention otherwise I would’ve reported it. The bed was very comfortable with nice sheets and the towels were nice and soft, if a little small - like all hotel towels are! We really enjoyed our time at the hotel and would absolutely recommend it."

"A few smaller items that made the stay slightly questionable, no elevator bags had to be carried. Not much to do about that in an historical building, but it's a note for guests. I would expect a notch better, especially when coming to bedding. The bed was comfortable, but I would expect down pillows and blanket at this price point. The record player was a lovely touch. Parking was challenging, but again, historical town we must make compromises. Wonderful shower towels, GREAT pool and hot tub area. The location of the hotel is / was supreme. Only coffee offered in the lobby, no inroom machine, and no option of a latte, or capp in the hotel or lobby, only in adjacent restaurant. (Loud bathroom fan, bug in room, a little mildew build up on the shower grout, definite degradation happening on plumbing fixtures. At this price point, should be better)"
