"The resort is gorgeous and the service was excellent. We stayed 5 nights and were a party of 5 adults with 3 rooms. We ended our 3 week vacation here after traveling through Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, Guadalajara and Mascota. We had a very relaxing beautiful time. My only are of suggestion for improvement is upon check in we were not given a tour of the facilities and we were never informed that there were activities like meditation in the morning or exercise class. "Excellent stay! Greeting Upon Arrival: excellent. Very nice staff Check In: smooth process. I don't know how it happened but a pleasant surprise to be VIP. Our room was upgraded to a 1 bedroom with 2 full bathrooms and full kitchen. Amenities: excellent. Restaurants for dining, pool choices, bars Quality of Food: could be better. Quality of Service: excellent. The service was kinda slow when we arrived and ate at Agave but other than that excellent. Activities: attened the white party....

"The hotel didn’t do a good job at cleaning the seaweed up. Properties around cleaned it up several times a day. Lack of transportation during peak hours. The grounds were in need of a good cleaning (under brush was thick with dead debris). The adults only pool had children swimming in it. Lack of nightly entertainment (surrounding hotels had nightly activities we could hear and see from our resort). Crumbling stairs. Pools closed at 8. Says it’s a 5 star resort but is more a 3 star. "

Occidental at Xcaret Destination - All Inclusive

"This was our second time at Occidental! And it was even better. Our flight was late, and shuttle was terrible, but the check in with Ruben was fantastic! Our cleaning lady Patricia for building 18 was also amazing! We had Wifi everywhere, the beach was fabulous, the weather was amazing, and the food tacos and pizza were amazing same with the Italian and oriental restaurant. I had suggestions on our last trip and would have to say that they more than full-filled them this time around. They had doors on washrooms, the bedding was amazing, the channels for the TV during bed time were great! The pools were fantastic, love the adult pool! Even the events and night shows were an upgrade - only thing, is to get an MC that speaks better english! But otherwise, fantastic job and hotel! I may have to come back in another 5 years!! Gracias, we miss you already Mexico!!"
