"Nice size although the layout could have been better. The kitchen was a bit crowded with three doors opening into it. We found the dish soap and towel finally on the table but would have been better placed by the sink. Parking was interesting as we did not know which spot was ours. The reception was very good and helpful. All in all a very nice place and perfect for what we needed."

"Alles super, bis auf das Wetter. Aber dafür kann die sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Vermieterin ganz bestimmt nichts. Wohnung war toll und der Weg zum Strand wirklich sehr kurz. "If you want an alternative to the tourist masses of Amsterdam then I highly recommend Alkmaar and staying at Simon's. The house is lovely and authentically dutch and you are right in the middle of a beautiful town. Recommend taking the bikes out to Bergen and beyond."

"John & Lein were amazing hosts. Their accommodation is a standout here. It's clean, well appointed, and includes many thoughtful touches. It has all you need and is close to the beach, shops, restaurants. The hosts shared their knowledge of the area and even helped me get tickets to a nearby park where I enjoyed many hikes and saw a lot of wildlife. Snag this rental if you can."
