“Great!”
Extremely good service!
“Siem Reap's hidden gem!”
Golden Temple Hotel was fantastic. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left the staff could not do enough for us. We had a delicious free welcome drink and snacks, a free one-hour massage, a traditional Khmer lunch cooked for us free of charge then free tea and peanuts in the afternoon and free T-shirt when we checked out. The rooms are beautifully presented - the beds are even strewn with flowers! You will not regret it if you choose this hotel. We just wish we could have stayed longer! It's also only 5 mins walk to the old market area where there's an abundance of great restaurants and bars.
“Best value in town for the price”
This is a great hotel with fantastic service from the moment you arrive until you leave. They go way beyond the basic room and breakfast package one usually expects. Free pick-up from the airport (via tuktuk, not car), drinks and lite refreshments on arrival while the concierge plans your stay and tours, one hour free massage during your stay, and free T-shirts when you leave. They found the perfect tour guide for us for the two days we visited Angkor Wat. They also gave us great information on places to visit in Siem Reap during the nights we were there. Beyond just breakfasts, the hotel restaurant also provides a complete menu for lunch and dinner when you are just too tired to go out after an all-day tour of Angkor Wat...food was very inexpensive and very tasty. Rooms are very comfortable, clean, and they have the quietest air conditioners I have yet experienced during my stays at various hotels in Asia...that was a pleasant surprise! (But, be sure to avoid ground floor rooms facing the pool if you want peace and quiet...tell them you want the 2nd or 3rd floor.) Staff is friendly, efficient, and met every request we made during our stay. Their rating is 3.5 stars on travel sites, but it sure felt a lot higher than that. I usually don't write hotel reviews, but this hotel definitely deserves a review.
“Temple Hotel is Perfect”
I've stayed in many top hotels but this one (although not really classed as top rated hotel compared to the likes of Shangri-la) IS SIMPLY PERFECT. Perfect price for an absolutely perfect service. Staff are simply amazing and attentive. They'll look after you from food, tours to transfers. They will organise pretty much everything for you and at the best possible price. You don't have to do a thing but relax in the knowledge that this hotel will sort it out for you! Loved it!
“Golden Time at Golden Temple Hotel”
In August 2011 we were staying with our three kids for 4 nights at the Golden Temple Hotel and can only highly recommend this fantastic Hotel. The Hotel is located in 5 minutes distance walk to the Old Market and 10 minutes by car to Angkor Wat. The staff is very polite, friendly and doing everything that we could enjoy our stay. The rooms are great as well. If you choose Pool Site View, than you have a nice view. Otherwise the next hotel is close. Pool and Restaurant are fantastic. When going to the pool, the staff were offering some fruits, nuts and tea for free. Free towels available at the pool. Restaurant is located at first floor with pool view. Food was excellent with very fair price. We decided to stay more often at the hotel restaurant than on the noisy, more expensive and lower quilaty restaurants at the old market. Breakfeast was served in the same Restaurant and you had the opportunity to choose between three menus. Everything was made fresh. No problem to get some extra coffe or extra orange juice. Moreover the Hotel was offering a massage for free per person. Finally we were booking three trips (Angkor Wat and Beng Mealea via Van and Tonle Lap via Tuk Tuk). Everything went well for a very good price If we would go back to Siem Reap, it would be a no brainer to stay at the same Hotel again as we were totally enjoying our stay.
“Oasis of relaxation after a day at the temples”
This is a great hotel! Richard and his staff are friendly and helpful, making you feel personally welcome. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the heart of the town. Though compact, the pool area is comfortable and beautiful. The stay includes many nice touches, such as flower petals on your bed and a complimentary dessert each afternoon. There is a spa with very affordable massages. The restaurant serves good Khmer food, good complimentary Western breakfast, and has cooking classes available. The hotel also arranged a driver to take us around during our 3-day stay, at a good price, and with a driver who treated us well. Overall, it's a wonderful place to unwind after a long hot dusty day of visiting Angkor Wat and the many other sights in the area.
“An absolute treat!”
The Golden Temple Hotel is simply amazing. The staff is perfectly attentive and wonderfully friendly. The restaurant is excellent. The pool is beautiful. The massages are great. The rooms (had a pool-facing one) are comfortable, well-sized, nicely decorated and very clean. The front desk knows everything about the area and can arrange any sightseeing or transportation that you might need. The staff thinks of every little thing- for example, when you return from a day of sightseeing and sit by the pool, they bring tea and a snack without even having to ask. We could not have had a better time. Recommended to all!
“Excellent staff, clean environment, excellent value for money - The Golden Temple Hotel”
From the minute we arrived we felt welcomed by very friendly and efficient front of house staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff were more than happy to order tuk tuks and taxis, point us in the right direction for shops, famous sights,etc, all done with the characteristic ease and amiability dispayed from the moment we arrived. The hotel is stylish with lovely public areas and good bedrooms. Unlike most hotels the restaurant prices were comparable with eating places in town. Food was well presented; there was a fair choice of Cambodian dishes as well as some European options. The pool area was attractive and a delight to lounge around- with a constant supply of iced tea and snacks, which although a little thing, serves to make one feel welcome. Free computer access meant ease of communication with the outside world- and again the added bonus of ice tea served whilst you surfed! The room was good with tea & coffeee making facilities. We were on the side next to another hotel, which meant we had a balcony which was overlooked but it wasn't a problem.The room size was fine.The worst feature was the unconventional shower arrangement in the bathroom, where curtains divided the shower from the toilet and sink, which was weird but not difficult to use! The hotel is very clean and well situated. We stayed for 5 days and would DEFINITELY stay there again if visiting the area. Even as we left we were given T shirts and fresh water for our onward journey.
“Great Service”
This hotel is a midpriced hotel that acts like a high priced hotel. There are welcome drinks and snack, sign up for a free massage (no strings attached!! except maybe $1 tip!!), flowers decorating the bed, good complimentary breakfast.. Drawbacks (not really negatives) -- if you go, ask for the pool view. The other side looks at a hostel and boutique hotel. It wasn't noisy or ugly, it is just right there when you go on your balcony. They have put up a linen cloth to block it from view, but you can still see it. IF you are there for sun in the afternoon, the pool doesn't get sun after 2ish. Pool area and service are very, very good though!!
“Oasis of Peace and Friendliness after a Chaotic Journey”
From the moment we arrived it was an Oasis of peace and friendliness in a chaotic journey from the border of Thailand. The refeshing welcome drink and snack, to the sweet disposition of Vichy, who checked us in, just made us feel welcome and at home. Richard the manager was also very helpful and assisted us in finding a very good restaurant in town as well as arranging a tuk tuk for us to the airport. Our cooking lesson with Nary was so much fun and now we can cook the food we enjoyed there at home. If you trael to Seim Reap Golden Temple should definitely be your choice as the place to stay. The Room was so nice and lead right out to the pool, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I can't say enough, on our three week tour of Asia this was one of the most memorable stops.
