    Cambodia Hotel Guide

Cambodia has earned its place on the Southeast Asian tourist trail thanks to its stunning temples, white-sand beaches, forest-laden hills, lush jungles, laid-back offshore islands, and lively capital. The intoxicating present is wrapped up in a vibrant culture and incredible landscape waiting to be discovered by adventurous travellers.

Today's Cambodia was born of the mighty Khmer empire that once ruled over what are modern Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. Remnants of the fabled empire can still be seen at the temples of Angkor. The most iconic temple in the country, Angkor Wat, astounds with its fusion of spiritual devotion and creative innovation, and its symmetry, size, and scale are awe-inspiring. Many Cambodia hotels are located close to this slice of heaven on earth; the heart and soul of the country.

Many visitors come to Cambodia for the temples, but fall in love with the cities and villages. The capital of Phnom Penh is a feast for the senses. From the banks of the Mekong River, the city is an undiscovered gem where crowded markets sell fresh fruits and religious icons, museums highlight the country's fascinating history, and the air of the many monasteries is thick with the aroma of incense.

Some of the best cheap hotel deals in Cambodia can be found in Phnom Penh. Book rooms in the Boeng Kak neighbourhood to mingle with backpackers and expats, find Cambodia hotel deals near Samdech Sothearos Boulevard to be close to major sights like the Royal Palace, National Assembly and Silver Pagoda, or look for Cambodia hotel packages near the riverfront to experience the chicest part of the city.

To experience the timeless landscapes of rice paddies and enjoy the rhythm of rural life, look for a cheap Cambodia hotel deal on the tropical south coast or near the Cardamom Mountains where exotic wildlife thrives and eco-tourism reigns. The astonishingly beautiful mountain range is home to Asian elephants, tigers, pangolins, Siamese crocodiles, and other threatened species. Trekking through the thick jungle is one of the most special experiences in Cambodia.

    When to Go

It is always warm in Cambodia, but the temperatures become stifling in April and May, and June and July are often marked by heavy rains. One of the best times to book hotels in Cambodia is during the cool season in September and October when both the heat and rain dissipate. Make reservations early at the top hotels to get the lowest rates during this season, or visit during the wet season to get special discount prices on rooms. Even during the rainiest parts of the year, it usually only rains for a few hours in the afternoon or evenings, leaving you plenty of time to explore the country.

    "Stayed in March 2014"
Enjoyed my stay at the Blue Lime in March 2014. The staff was excellent, my room was clean, I had a great bathroom, and the AC worked as did the WiFi. Breakfast out by the pool was great. The hotel is a little hard for tuk-tuk drivers to find. They claim they know where it is, but they don't. So make sure you have the address and a map with you to show them the location.

"Great location and very friendly staff"
Hotel was next to the palace and about a 2 min stroll to the riverside where there are a number of restaurants and bars. Close to the Phnom Penh night market that runs over the weekend. It's about a 10 minute walk. There are tuk-tuks outside that work with the hotel which makes them more reliable, but you may find that the price is hirer because the drivers give the hotel a cut of their earnings. The staff all spoke English, some with excellent English skills, which made life much easier. Concierge helpful in directing you to the popular sight-seeing spots. Great panormaic cviews of the city from the rooftop.

Really nice resort and a great private beach. Beds were very comfortable. Staff were very nice and fiendly - some were more knowledgeable than others (Sam at the front desk was absolutely wonderful).

    "Nice and quiet"
The hotel is not in the main tourist area which is good and bad. The good is it is quiet. The bad is you will need to use tuk tuks or rent a motorbike to get around. Hotel got us a minibike for 6usd a day. It appears that the hotel was recently renovated so everything worked great. The only exception was the mini fridge, which was quite old, so maybe it was a holdover from times gone by. The pictures on expedia are accurate in the depection of the room. Breakfast was served in your patio which was nice. However the meal selection was very limited (the picture of food on expeda is of a meal that I was never offered). Hotel lost power twice in one day, but I can not fault them as it appeared to be city wide. However the back up generator only runs an emergency light and water pump, so no ac or any other electrical supplies. I liked this hotel and would gladly stay at it again.

    "Nice hotel with great service"
We stayed in this resort for 5 days from 31 Mar - 4 Apr. Every staff in this resort from chamber maid to restaurant staff and front desk staff portrays a very high standard in customer service. They are very eager to serve, very friendly and never fail to make the guests feel welcome in their resort. Quality breakfast and a big spread, from local to international cuisines, not to mention the the generous fresh fruits. A big thank you to Sean, the duty manager who took good care of our needs from check-in to check-out. He is very professional and took the guests' feedback seriously. Noumul from front desk was very patient and understanding when we were considering the change in room. Enjoyed the spa and the swimming pool, although it was 95% occupancy, we had no problem finding loungers. The only improvement will be to refurbish the rooms - the furnishing looks dated compared to the main lobby. Special thanks to tuk tuk driver #4 for his humbleness and taking care of us when driving us around the city on numerous occasions. Definitely "five star" service and really hope the staff will continue to maintain the good standard of service.

"Great stay - good location - great value for money"
Enjoyed a week here both visiting the numerous temples in the area and the lake as well as relaxing at the hotel pool. Staff very attentive. Other reviews complained about the breakfast buffet being disorganized - I cannot agree at all. Given - the hotel was not fully booked but even with an almost full breakfast room there was sufficient and speedy access to the buffet (which offers nice choices) and sufficient staff to service. We felt like we had great value for money.

    "Great Stay"
We spent a total of 11 nights at this hotel in three separate visits. Hotel well situated in center of Siem Reap. Staff very helpful to meet all our needs and three check-ins and outs. The deluxe rooms are excellent and the premium rooms newer and larger and worth the (small) extra price. Sumptuous breakfast. Tour groups eat early so dining room all to ourselves after nine pm, just perfect. Nice large swimming pool too. Would be my address for any return visit.
