“great trip to rome”
Right next to the vatican, good neighborhood, great breakfast, helpful staff. A little expensive but I highly recommed this hotel.
“Will stay again when visiting Rome”
This is a very nice hotel. Will gladly stay there again when I visit Rome and will tell my friends about it too.
“Fine service and wonderful breakfast”
This large hotel, built in the 1950s and later refurbished, is tucked away in a side street close to St Peters, and in easy walking distance of the Square, the Vatican Museums, the Tiber and the Castel Sant'Angelo. The centre of Rome, the Forum and Colosseum are a bus ride away unless you are a keen walker. It's a functional rather than characterful building, with modern facilities, including air conditioning and heritage decor. Our room, the standard "classic" double, had distressed painted wood furnishings which were beginning to show signs of wear. For us, it's great qualities were the fine professional and friendly service from its multilingual staff and a breakfast buffet of staggering variety and proportions that sets you up for a whole day in this wonderful city.
“Recommending it to all our friends!!”
Starhotels Michelangelo is a terrific hotel in a great area off the Vatican. Rooms are clean and modern, nice amenities too. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a large selection of deliciously prepared foods, fresh fruits and wonderful coffee for us Americans who need that full-sized cup. The service is superb. I highly recommend this hotel!
“Great! Great! Great!”
Great location! Could not ask for better!! One could walk to everything. This is my third time staying here and it only gets better. You will not be sorry at all.....Breakfast is wonderful too!
“The Good and the Bad”
The Front Desk staff were a little snooty, but the waiters in the restaurant for lunch were very polite and attentive. My bed was the most comfortable I have ever experienced in a hotel anyway - 5 stars for that! Also, great shower and bath amenties. Our room was on the street side, so kind of noisy but not terribly so. My only regret was that the hotel is really on the wrong side of the river for those who want to experience something other than Vatican City. It's also a pretty hefty walk to the metro station, but I needed the exercise anyway!
“Great location; could walk anywhere in tourist district.”
Very helpful; allowed early check in and looked after bags on day of checkout. All good. Breakfast okay.
“Fully recommended”
The hotel is very near St Peters Square which was why we chose it. On first entering our room we were pleasantly surprised as it was spotless. It was thoroughly cleaned and linen replaced each morning that we were there. No kettle/coffee/tea but Staff were very helpful and breakfast was good.
“Nice location”
The staff was so helpful, the location was great - out of the way so it was quiet, but VERY close to St. Peters, and within walking distance to just about everywhere. There are some FABULOUS restaurants nearby and a delicious gelato establishment just around the corner!
“will definately return”
Staff very friendly, room clean and tidy, breakfast excellent choices
