“Clean, Comfortable, Pleasant”
This hotel is nothing fancy but it is clean and comfortable, with complementary breakfast and nice service. There was a free safe in our room which we could use without asking for a key/ card and we had air conditioning that we could control. It's in a convienient location and I'd reccomend it to anyone.
“Great location”
There was no review of the hotel so it was a bit of a gamble but we were thrilled with it especially for the price! Our triple room had a kingsize bed and a single for our daughter, sofa, coffee table, vanity unit TV, full length mirror, marbled bathroom with bath and shower. Via Nazionale is a busy road so too noisy to leave windows open overnight but it is a 10 minute walk to the Trevi and Quirinale and only 30 mins to the Colosseum so the easiest location to get around on foot and we are not keen walkers by any means! Breakfast was simple but good. There is a small lift from the ground floor with just enough space for 3 people and a case. Reception staff were very kind and booked a car to the airport which worked out cheaper than 3 train fares and a taxi to the termini and took us door to door in 30 minutes. This was the first time we have been to Rome so we don't have anything to judge it by but personally when we go back we will book this hotel again as it felt safe and homely yet in the middle of all the spendour and left us with plenty of spending money.
“Friendly, comfortable, well positioned and cool!”
We had read the various comments from other visitors to this Hotel, found them quite mixed but felt it was worth a try. We were not disappointed. It is an excellent location, a comfortable walk to the Trevi Fountain and the Colosso and a reasonable priced taxi to the vatican.Breakfast was great, the room 1st class, the bathroom excellent very clean and marble floor/walls, the air conditioning working and the lift small but great fun! (they dont all have to be the size of a garage!) Staff were very friendly and helpfull. Overall we could not fault it and it does deserve its 3 stars. Would definately stay there again.
“Excellent hotel centrally located”
We have just returned from a four night stay at the Giolli Hotel in Rome. After reading some of the reviews of the hotels around the station we opted for one closer to all the main sites. Our large triple room looked out on to the busy Via Nazionale but excellent double glazing meant there was no traffic noise ensuring a good nights sleep. The bathroom was brilliant with an over bath shower and separate hand held shower for hair, feet etc - they could even both be used at the same time! There was also a free safe in the room which meant we didn't have to carry large amounts of money and passports around with us. Breakfast was much better than expected with fruit juice, pastries, croissants as well as eggs, cheese and salami. All in all an excellent hotel we would definitely visit again and recommend to our friends!!
“Great little find”
Great hotel. Clean and the room was not small at all. Bed was hard but not that bad. In walking distance to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Coliseum, Train station and the Pantheon. Breakfast not that good but go next door and you wont be disapointed by the price or the food. Highly recommend for a good quick breakfast. All in all the Giolli Hotel is a great find and we will stay there again when we return to Rome.
“Great location”
Anywhere in Rome is walkable from this hotel - even the Vatican (if you like walking). An easy walk to the station, too. We were pleasantly surprised to see this hotel was actually a three-star on arrival. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff helpful. Breakfast was your usual hotel fare - but good. Pastries, rolls, yoghurt, cereal.
“Excellent location. We walked to all the sights and it was very close to train station.”
The hotel was situated in an excellent location. We walked everywhere, except the Vatican which was a tube journey away. The tube station was at the top of the road, and the main train station(from the airport) just a little further round the corner. Our room was great, bathroom nice and clean, and the bed was huuuge. I like a hard bed so be warned that thebad was quite hard. The TV wasn't up to much, but we didn't need it anyway. The only downside with the room was that there were no tea and coffee making facilities. (Don't know whether I should expect that in Rome though!) and the cleaner threw away my newspaper before I'd finished reading it!! The shower was nice and warm, plenty of towels. Breakfast was very good. Fruit, croissants, bread, yoghurts, ham and cheese, juices and tea/ coffee, including Engligh breakfast tea. It was a buffet which meat we went back several times to fill up for the day. The staff were friendly and helpful, although their English wasn't brilliant. Neither was my Italian but we laughed and got through it. We had a room at the rear of the hotel, which was a relief because the front was a main road with plenty of traffic. They say that the glazing blocks out the traffic noise. I have no reason to doubt as our glazing blocked out a thunder storm. The view we had was poor, but I would prefer that to risking traffic noise! I would definately return to this hotel and have already recommended it to colleagues at work!
“A tous points de vue, séjour excellent.”
A noter tout particulièrement, la gentillesse du personnel et de l'accueil. Une situation centrale parfaite. Pas de luxe ostentatoire mais une propreté irréprochable et une salle de bain magnifique. A recommander.
“Fantastic hotel”
The Giolli Hotel is well worth the stay. It is both comfortable and wonderfully situated. We were within 15 min walk from the coloseum, so could visit it each day/evening. The breakfast was good - self service pretty much as much as you want, all fresh pastries, yogurts etc. Overall the hotel was wonderful - Rome was magical.
“Great hotel”
The reception staff were really helpful, recommending a great restaurant. They also helped when there was a train strike on the day we left Rome. The breakfast was lovely, loads of choice and all very fresh Great location and despite being on a main road was very quiet. We did not use the Metro at all while in Rome as we were close to many of the main sites. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone
