“One of the best hotels I've stayed at”
This hotel delivered a 4 star value at a 2 star price. We went in the off season (mid-late december), had a very comfortable, clean, and classy room. Excellent service, they even left us a christmas present on christmas eve. The room and bathroom were both similar to american hotel room sizes. Nothing small about this hotel. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, there was a nice bar with a lounge attached. The staff were extremely helpful, polite and went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. The location is steps from the metro, so if you're young and want to get around easily, you can take the metro to the Vatican, Colloseum, Forum, Spanish steps, and walk to the Trevi fountain. I couldn't think of a better location for a hotel. The front entrance is on a quiet street though, but is moments from the busy Barberini square. I would recommend this hotel to anyone
“Good deal at Hotel Barocco”
We stayed there for four nights in Sep-Oct 2008. Great location - walking distance to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, etc., subway stop next door, and good restaurants right on the square. Close pharmacy and grab and go stores (for bottled water, etc.) as well. Room was clean - marble bathroom (although tiny shower), etc. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
“Would definately go back”
We went for a long weekend and the hotel was perfectly positioned to get around whether by foot, metro or bus. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Trevi fountain and Spanish steps and the metro station in the Piazza is only a few stops from the Vatican. The breakfast buffet was excellent and our room was very comfortable and overlooked the Piazza. The staff were polite, courteous and very helpful and we would definately stay there again.
“Great little hotel”
We stayed a week to see the sights. We had a deluxe room. It was a good size with a lovely little bathrrom. It was extremely quiet - especially considering its on the Piazza Barberini which has traffic. The bed was very very comfortable. Lovely sheets, great mattress. Breakfast was good - a lovely buffet with the option of cooked eggs too. We are veggie and ate well. From Barocco we were able to walk everywhere (but we like walking!). The Trevi fountain and the spanish steps are both only 10 mins walk away at most. They also organised our airport transfers last minute for us. This was a limo door to door. It was only slightly more expensive than the standard taxi and completely stress free! Book it when you make the expedia booking for an even better rate. Only slight criticism was a lack of natural daylight in the public areas on the hotel. Its down a small street with no view on most sides. Didn't matter to us at all. Our room and our bathroom both had a window with a view into the street.
“Exceeding expectations”
Wonderful staff, fabulous location in piazza barberini, lovely room, if smallish, beautiful bathroom.
“Really great hotel - comfortable, welcoming, efficient”
This hotel is excellent, wonderfully situated right by Metro line A, with a taxi rank and the tour bus stop. We stayed in the annex literally two doors from the main entrance in the side street. Our rooms were large and the bathrooms beautiful. The whirlpool bath was a godsend after walking all day. We had our own private entrance and a lift. The main hotel is quiet with an delicious breakfast although rather too many sweet cakes for me. The staff in particular were really friendly and efficient. They booked our visit to the Borghese Gallery (a must) and sorted our return to the airport. The safe needed a new battery and this was done immediately, the hair dryer hose tore and was repaired very quickly. Nothing was a problem to them and they made our trip the best we have had for a long time. Go to this hotel, ask for the annex, and enjoy Rome - just take a lot of money for meals, the Euro is not doing visitors any favours.
“Great location, great service”
I stayed for 6 nights with my family - wife and 2 small children - in a suite. Room 39 to be precise. The stay exceeded our expectations, which were already quite high given that it has received such favourable traveller reviews. The location is excellent - on a busy but pleasant square at the bottom of the Via Vittorio Veneto. The Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain are easily walkable and there are loads of shops and restaurants in the surrounding streets. There is a metro station within 50 metres and there are regular bus stops on the square, plus stops for various open top bus tours, which we found to be the best way of getting around the city. The hotel's breakfast buffet is plentiful and varied. There is a bar which offers bar snacks for those who arrive late, are tired, don't want to step out the hotel etc.
“Great location”
While it is not the easiest place to find (entrance on a side alley), the location of this hotel was great. Many sights were within walking distance and those that were not, were easy to get to via the "hop on, hop off" type bus tours. The bus stop was just steps from the front door. Rooms were fine (no English TV except for CNN Financial - and we were there during the stock market crash...). Breakfast was very good and the staff was always very helpful. Compared to other places that we stayed in Italy, it was a very good value.
“Amazing Comfortable Convienient”
This hotel was simply outstanding. The staff is courteous and helpful. The rooms were beautiful and unique. The location cannot be beat for easy access to all sights. The subway is less than a block away. I highly recommend this establishment.
“quite immpressed”
we took the inlaws for a long weekend and must say we loved it .the hotel rooms were a bit small but that would be the only complaint it was only a short walk fron the spanish steps SHOPPING and the triv fountain and we walked to the vatican and colliseum from there also .the breackfast took the edge of till dinner . we would go back to this hotel again but would maybe give the extra to get a larger room tip turn left out of the hotel doors and left again to find reasonable priced restaurants

Spanish Steps - Trevi Fountain, Rome, Italy: Romes largest, most spectacular fountain, the Trevi Fountain is a baroque extravaganza, its ancient sea gods and gushing water dominating a tiny piazza. Immortalised in Fellinis film, La Dolce Vita, this is the place to toss your coins to ensure your return to the Eternal City. The three streets radiating from the piazza lead to the historical centre and sights of the Quirinale one of the original seven hills.
