“Great location! Great hotel!”
Very good location near the metro and walking distance to most attractions - really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
“Excellent”
Ideally located hotel. Very friendly staff and the hotel is maintained to a very high standard. Only slight negative is the room we stayed in was a bit on the small side, but why stay in your room for long when you have so many sights to see!!!
“Piazza Barberini... we can hardly wait to go back!”
My husband and I travel to Rome 4-5 times per year and we were absolutely delighted with the Hotel Barberini. We have been walking by for years and years and so when I was planning our trip back to Rome, I decided to book the Hotel. We were not disappointed, to say the least. The location works so well because it is off the beaten track so it is quite at night for sleeping yet only takes minutes by foot to reach all of the sites and many of my favourite restaurants and watering holes! European rooms are not huge but our room was clean, lovely marble bathroom, very pleasant decor and had the in room safe that we always appreciate. We were thrilled with the roof top breakfast room where we enjoyed our morning coffee and the buffet was one of the best that we have had! The view of Rome itself every morning was worth the price! Staff very helpful - we had flown with British Airways during their strike and Riccardo at the front desk went out of his way to help us out - going on line and checking out alternative flights etc. Pepi's American Bar is one of our favourite spots to have a night cap before retiring for the evening! The place just hops all day and night. Sit inside or outside and the people watching is out of this world - our favourite server - Darwin would always greet us with a huge smile and the whole staff is young and funky, dancing away and sinning away when their favourite tunes would come on.
“Best New Year's Eve of my life”
I went to Rome with an extended family group of ten, ages 11 to 70, between Christmas and the New Year. All were pleased with the hotel. The location is excellent, very close to the Barberini Metro stop and a short walk from the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps among other sights. The sixth floor breakfast room provides a great view including St. Peter's Dome. It also provided a perch to watch spectacular fireworks all over the city at the New Year. The breakfast selection is extensive, the staff helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable. A Despar supermarket is just down the street as are a number of restaurants. Across the street is Palazzo Barberini featured in "Roman Holiday" (the goodbye scene) and now a museum. Via Rasella, the street on which the hotel fronts, was the scene of an uprising by partisans against the Germans in WWII, a fact learned after returning home. The appearance of the street has changed but a historian says bullet holes are still visible on some buildings. I hope to get back to look for them.
“Wonderful hotel, excellent service, helpful staff and a good location.”
From the moment of arrival after a very long cab ride we were met with courtesy and helpfulness. This continued throughout our stay of 4 days. The Terrace for breakfast is almost breathtaking for it's view of Rome. The rooms were very comfortable and always clean and freshened up. The front desk staff was most helpful with any request we had. Couldn't recommend this hotel any higher if you are looking for location, intimate feel, cleanliness and caring staff.
“First Time Rome Adventure”
The Barberini was an excellent hotel both in comfort and location for our week stay in Rome. It was within walking distance of the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and more. Also the hotel was near a Metro stop and multiple bus stops including tour buses located in Piazza Barberini . We easily were able to get to the Colosseo area, The Vatican, Piazza Navona, along with many other areas with the Roma Metro/Bus Pass. The Barberini staff was extremely hospitable and helpful. Their breakfast was great with a beautiful view of the city. We have traveled to Europe many times and the Hotel Barberini has to be one of best picks ever.
“excelent hotel”
Excelent hotel. Great expierence. Perfect location. Everybody friendly.
“Perfect choice!”
Great Hotel, great location and very well trained staff. Perfect choice!
“Great location”
Lovely hotel. Within walking distance to Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain. Across the street from Barberini Palace, where scenes from Roman Holiday were filmed. Beautiful roof top breakfast room. Rooms are small but comfortable. Large bathrooms. Helpful staff.
“Our Best European Capital City Hotel Stay Ever”
Rome and Paris particularly are dangerous places to choose "character hotels" - many are shabby dumps - and we are seasoned travellers in Europe. We were blown away with everything about the Barberini - firstly its location is excellent - just a few hundred meters from the Barberini metro and genuine walking distance to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps - right in the area you need to be. Although it is right in the midst of all the action it is on a side street and we were surprised how quiet it was - double glazing and not a sound. I must admit we were upgraded as the standard room we booked was unavailable, but the whole hotel was in sparkling condition. Public rooms, other bedrooms we looked into, restaurant, reception, lift - all lovely. We had a beautiful room decorated in period style with marble ensuite. Front of house and restaurant staff were knowledgeable, helpful and charming. Breakfast is served on the top (6th floor) with sweeping panoramas over the rooftops to the Vatican and St Peter's Dome. Our only comment is that we cannot understand why the management (and I hope they are reading this) do not make more use of this top floor - it would make a stunning dining venue like the Hassler or La Pergola - it is a bar in the evening and we enjoyed the experience of pre dinner cocktails there. Would we go back? - A resounding yes.

Spanish Steps - Trevi Fountain, Rome, Italy: Romes largest, most spectacular fountain, the Trevi Fountain is a baroque extravaganza, its ancient sea gods and gushing water dominating a tiny piazza. Immortalised in Fellinis film, La Dolce Vita, this is the place to toss your coins to ensure your return to the Eternal City. The three streets radiating from the piazza lead to the historical centre and sights of the Quirinale one of the original seven hills.
