“Loved the Crosti apartment.”
Location perfect. Close to groceries, pharmacie , metro ,Termini train station etc etc. All in short walking distance.Just perfect .Service excellent. Thanks to Signore Crosti, Raffie and Claudia. We just loved our trip.
“Independent Living”
The Crosti Hotel offers two hotel options: standard rooms in the main building and private apartments in a building 5mins (walking) away from the main hotel. We stayed (3 people) at the apartments, and were pleasantly surprised with the accomodations. The elevator was extremely small, so beware if you have extra large luggage. The apt size was great and the best part, it had an awesome terrace with a really nice view! The apartment had a full kitchen with dishes and a microwave where we were able to reheat plenty of leftovers. The beds are a bit firm but some people like that. The apartment size and layout was perfect for our small group. It is conveniently located a block and a half from the B train station, that takes you to the Colosseum and Trevi fountain. I'd recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget looking for a comfortable place to stay.
“The Crosti is molto bene!”
The Crosti hotel was a great place to stay in Rome. The front desk staff were so helpful, generous and friendly. The free breakfast was very good every morning, quite an assortment of different kinds of foods. The room was medium sized, clean and quiet. The hotel is a marvelous, old Roman 'house" with marble floors, old doors and wide stairways. The neighborhood is quiet, safe and filled with cafes, restaurants, 2 small food stores and a great gelati place. The train station is 3 blocks away as is Plaza Reppublica. Would definitely stay there again!
“crosti con crostacei”
linked to a nearby italian seafood retaurant that is decent.
“Will Return”
It was everything that you need in a Rome hotel. It wasn't overly expensive, the breakfasts were perfect (and the woman looking after the breakfast room was exceptional). The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The nearest subway was only a 10 minute walk away, and the train station just a few minutes more than that. Walking distance to most sites of interest was quite far, but that's true of most hotels in Rome regardless. The rooms were always spotless when you returned from your day. The neighborhood had a bit of an edge to it, but there were lots of excellent restaurants around, and it was nice being in an area where locals live, and not just overflowing with tourists. Very happy with my 9 day stay, and look forward to going back.
“Great Location, friendly staff.”
Short walk from Roma Centrale train station, and several other metro (subway) stations. great friendly bar across the street on one corner, and several terrific restaurants within a stones throw. Not glitzy or grand, felt more like a private apt building. Our room was good sized, comfortable and CLEAN. Definitely will stay here again.
“Hard mattress; plumbing issues; flood”
My husband and I stayed in an apartment which was a few blocks away from the hotel. The issues: 1. We like a firm mattress, but this one was so hard we couldn't sleep. 2. The water in the shower cycles from freezing to boiling and back again. The plumbing makes a lot of noise! 3. The night before we left, the kitchen flooded. Our apartment was on the 6th floor. The old small elevator only fits 3 people. This was not a problem for the two of us, but we hoped that it would not get stuck each time we used it. On the plus side, breakfast was included and it was very good. The woman in charge of the breakfast buffet was very nice, polite and efficient. It wasn't very convenient to walk back to the hotel from the apartment so we missed the last breakfast because we had an early flight.
“The best breakfast in Italy!”
My husband and I stayed at the Crosti in early August 2011. It was very close to the train station, which was a must for us. We had a driver from the hotel pick us up at the airport. Our incoming flight was delayed for 4 hours and yet he was still there, waiting for us with no problems. I highly recommend this service for a stress-free arrival! The hotel was clean and the room was exactly what we wanted: modern looking, nice private bathroom, air conditioning, good water pressure, safe, and quiet. It was perfect. The breakfast was the best we had in Italy! (We were also in Florence and Venice.) FRESH as it gets. The coffee and fruit salad were superb. The coffee was made by the breakfast attendant right when you ordered it! Great capuccino as well. Giovanni and Marco at the front desk helped us get oriented with a map and the best bus routes and metro routes to get to where we needed to go. They also watched our luggage after we checked out and before our train to Florence. (Thanks guys!) There is a grocery store right down the street so we got snacks and some cheap wine and dinners there a few nights. This is a great way to save some money because you might get hosed at some of the touristy spots. Overall, my favorite place we stayed in Italy! Great attention to detail! :) I would definitely come back!!
“It was OK”
The hotel staff was very helpful, both before the trip (via e-mail) and during the trip. The hotel building was very nice, and the breakfast was great. We stayed in one of the apartments, and that is the part that was just OK. It was nice having a lot of space, and a fridge and a washing machine. The balcony was very nice. You could only get WiFi in 1 room, and even then it was spotty. The air conditioners worked, but struggled to keep the place cool. The overall cleanliness of the place was so-so. The tile floor would get your socks dirty if you walked around for a while, but the bedding and towels were clean. The biggest problem was poor drainage in the shower. It got worse as the week progressed, and backed-up the last night with raw sewage coming up into the shower floor when you ran the sink. I realize Rome and its buildings are old, so this just may be part of life. I liked how the neighborhood around the arpartment was quiet, and there were some good restaurants around it. I have a feeling the hotel rooms are nicer than the apartments, but like I said, it was nice having more space.
“Feb Vacation 2011”
I would give everything a positive, except the breakfast. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, it is just that if you were not there very early 7-8, there was nothing left, and they did not restock. Once it was gone, it was gone. The apartments were only about 2 blocks from the train station. Easy on and easy off. Near the entrance to the train station, there is a pizza joint that sells rice balls. My family is still raving about them, so grab one on your way to the train station.
