“hotel marcusc”
c tres bien pour un weekend , just pour dormir et faire la fete .!
“Excellent location to be able to walk to all of Rome toursit sites ie Vatican, colloisum, fountains”
Breakfast was not available due to long term construction and no alternative was offered. Gave refund of $10.00. With Rome being so expensive due to the exchange rate this was a disappointment. We should have been given this information at booking. There are steps that lead to the elevator which we did not know. So dragging large suitcases up the steps was a challenge. Room was clean and recently remodled though very small--as expected in older European cities. Location was wonderful as we walked every where. Staff was very helpful with logistics and calling for transportation back to the airport.
“Nice location only a 5 minute walk from the Spanish steps and metro train!”
Check in was easy and the location was great! We stayed in room 4 for the first 2 nights and it wasn't the best although I have stayed in worse. 3rd night we moved to #6 which was much better. There are some nice shops located near by and some restaurants as well. The best of them was a nice pizzaria just around the corner near the Farmacia (Pharmacy) and the owner Gianni was an amazing host and he helped us through the menu. By our 3rd visit, we were like family and he gave us a free drink and a warm goodbye when it was time to go. For a warm clean place to sleep if you don't need all the frills, I would give it an A+.
“Great location.”
The location was great, but the hotel is hard to find. We had to change rooms for the second night. The elevator was too small for people and luggage. The saving thing about the hotel is the location. I would use it again for that reason.
“Excellent Location”
This hotel is ideally situated. The Spanish Steps are at the end of the street, about a five minute walk away. The Vatican & Castle S'Angelo are a ten minute walk in the other direction. Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain are easy walks, less than 20-30 min. The room was small but spotless, quiet (our room faced a side street), and the front desk helped us with phone calls for day trips. Breakfast was typical European (pastry, etc). The shower was small, but once we got the hang of it, we managed fine. Most cab drivers don't seem to know where the hotel is, but you can get dropped at the Spanish Steps. Also, ring the hotel's doorbell on the right hand side of the door to get buzzed in. Italian residents live on the upper floor of the hotel's building, so each has a separate bell. There's also a pharmacy to the right of the Sp Steps that is mostly open til 8p. It came in handy when we were looking for cold medicine.
“Great location for the price”
We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Marcus. #1, the location is perfect if you want to be in the hub of things. #2, for those who insist on them, the elevator did work. #3, they are undergoing renovations so there are some construction materials around, but it didn't affect us at all and our room was right next to a room they were working on. There is no air conditioning but there is a fan-- the bathroom WAS small, but this is Rome.... it's a very old building and one can't expect US standards... and there is a fridge in the room. The staff was very pleasant and for the minimal amount he told us his wages are, he's doing a great job. If you're traveling on a budget, this is definitely a place to go.
“Hotel Marcus”
The hotel was an ideal location for all the tourist attractions in rome. There were 6 of us in 3 rooms and we were well looked after by the hotel staff.
“Basic but good location”
Hotel was basic and being refurbished but it was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly. The location was great, walking distance to everywhere so if you just want somewhere to sleep, the Hotel Marcus is a good choice but if you want luxury and pampering then go to a more expensive hotel
“un peu déçu par la chambre”
Hôtel très bien placé et très central. Bonne insonorisation des chambres, bonne literie et décoration des chambres assez agréable. Dommage que l'aménagement ne soit pas terminé : trous au plafond, interrupteurs non recouverts de la plaque décorative. Petit déjeuner chiche. Information par une personne de l'hôtel sur les spectacles.
“Small but good location”
The hotel room was very small, but clean and air conditioned - our top two requirements. Breakfast was basic, but all we needed. Staff could be coaxed into providing help and the odd smile would have been nice. It's a great location, walking dictance from the Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona

Navona - Pantheon, Rome, Italy: In the heart of the historic centre, Piazza Navona is Romes most famous square. Like a giant stage set, this is where the theatre of daily Roman life is re-enacted among the café tables that spill out onto the fountain-splashed piazza. Berninis baroque extravaganza, the Fontana dei Quattro Fiume, is the most celebrated of the three fountains. Nearby is the Pantheon one of Romes great symbols and a marvel of ancient architecture.
