"I called the night before my arrival and was told that I would have to walk from the bus station to the hotel. It was not easy as uphill and I had two bags. When i arrived ( rather hot amd bothered), the receptionists said I should have called them to pick me up! Once checked in, I called reception three times and room service (there is no mini bar) and no k e picked up. I was told the phone system was not working (although they did get it operating). "We were only in Switzerland for a couple of days as part of a larger trip but the Hotel Bären was ideally located to explore the Interlaken region and for hiking around Kandersteg. The views from our room were stunning and the area was quiet and relaxing. It is preferable to have a car when visiting as the hotel is 15 minutes or so up a relatively twisty road. The staff were friendly, check in/out was straightforward and the breakfast was really good! "
