“had a great time”

Didn't really know what to expect for a 3 star restort. This was terricfic. The staff was friendly, always very accomadating. The food was tasty, and typical for buffet style. Their restervation system for the a la carte restaurants was limited and frustrating. As suggested in in reviews, we took a clock, kleenex, & travel mugs for bar drinks and I also took a mini coffee maker for the room. Each day we left 20-40 pesos for the maid(who was different each day) and in return they gave us extra care. As mentioned elswhere, they only leave one lg bottle of water a day, but there is selfserve water available at the bars. Highly recommend walking up the beach for a massage. Overall we were very pleased. FYI 1/2 taxi from PV or many activities, warning we were approached right in the airport by someone who acted like they were a hotel rep, and was really just pushing timeshare/holiday memberships.

Ricardo is one we meet him last april he and his wife were expecting and had the baby the week before this visit. this time it was Saudt (not sure of spelling) he was our bar tender all week this visit we will be back. P.S. meet some nice vacationer also.

“Great Bang for Your Buck”

We spent 10 days at the Royal Decameron for a bargain price. The resort exceeded my expectations all the way: great staff, good food, lovely grounds, and comfortable rooms. We will definitely return.

“another fun time at the royal decameron”

the 2 things i didnt like were the room we were in had adjoining doors to another room and you could hear everything in the next room. also the shows they had at NIGHT were sometimes not appropriate for families.

“Great deal for family”

Just returned from 1 week at decameron. We were 2 families, 9 people, 5 teenagers. Had a wonderful experience. enjoyed all the water sports and restaurants at hotel. Italian was favorite. We were in block 6 first nite, requested move to block 4 and that was perfect for us as kids wanted to be closer to beach. noise a little loud a few nights, but nothing too bad. Night shows were okay, found hotel was full of canadians and local spanish for family get aways. not too many americans. overall would go again if get the chance.

Outdoors or beach
Massages on the beach for $20.00 for one hour were fabulous. just walk down the beach and they have tents set up.

“I LOVE the Decameron!!!”

People are very friendly and helpful, food is fantastic with a huge wide variety. The activities were fun. GREAT value for the money. There's no shampoo/conditioner or clock in the room, so bring your own! Very clean. I had a great time. This is my third stay at the Decameron and each time gets better! Absolutely beautiful grounds! Has pretty much everything that you could want in a resort. The Spa was wonderful, had a FANTASTIC back massage. I would highly recommend this resort...and have!

Area recommendations
There is a nice quiet authentic little market in Buccerias (about a ten minute walk from the resort). It's pleasant. I also highly recommend the Zip Line tours and the Pirates of the Bay night cruise.
What to pack
Shampoo, Conditioner, and an alarm clock!

“Best value for the Money!”

A friend and I went here Nov 1st to the 8th. It was great! 88 and sunny everyday. This was my 2nd time here and would go back in a heart beat! This was my friends first visit to Mexico and she loved it. She got a massage by Theresa and said it was very good! Not a bad price either. The food was better this time I think because we took are time and tasted everything. We enjoyed the Italian restaurant but loved the buffet too as they had theme nights with different cuisine. The one show we saw was impressive and top quality performers. The beach is beautiful. The venders get a little annoying but would recommend buying from Chava(older guy with a cowboy hat). Always start 50% lower than they ask and work from there. Also make sure it has the 9.25 stamp on the item. Other than that you wont find a better value for the money as I have been to several all-inclusives in Mexico! Have Fun!!!!!!

“First time at all inclusive”

I spent a week at this hotel and had a great time. The rooms and grounds are well kept and very clean. The beds were especially comfortable and the air conditioning was great. Be prepared to bring your own Kleenex, shampoo, face clothes, pen, paper, alarm clock as these things are not in the room. there was a room safe available for a small fee. There was no peep hole on the hotel rooom door, nor any deadbolt. It was just an indoor lock and light chain. There was a great selection of food and the meals at the restaurants needing a reservation were very good. The buffet selections were at times overly salty and generally the desserts were not great. Lots of fresh fruit and good coffee made breakfast very enjoyable. The service at the restaurants was very good. We stayed in building #6 and would stay there again. It is very quiet but also more of a walk to the beach. We spent most of our time at the pool. Friends in buildings closer to the beach found it quite noisy so if you want quiet stay in 5 or 6. We enjoyed walking into Bucerias and it was easy to get into Puerto Vallarta. This hotel is not 5 star, but it is clean, comfortable, friendly, cheerful and affordable. I'll be back for sure!

“My Mom has been there 8 times...that says it all”

I have now been to the Decameron 3 times now, and have been satisfied each an every time! They have friendly staff, great bartenders and clean rooms. I have had two of my Sisters get married at the Decameron as well, and they have had great experiences as well. My Mother is a repeat offender and has now been at the Decameron 8 times! They try other places and just keep coming back! It is a very "Canadian" resort with it being filled with almost 50% of people from the great White North, and a great portion of Mexicans also which gives you a variety of people to interact with. It is great of all ages, as they have pools for children and quiet pools for adults too. I fall into the (25-35) age range and still find it young enough to have fun at, but not to the extreme of Spring Break in the Quays if you know what I mean ;) The beaches are nice, with lots of chairs available and bars close by. Vendors on the beach are my only issue, as being asked if you want corn-rows 17 times an hour gets old fast, especially if you have short hair. The food is good, though sometimes is lacking variety (there is only so much baked beans that a Canadian can or should eat) Their evening entertainment is great, lively and even after the 3rd time seeing them, they are still quite a show. But over all I give the Royal Decameron a 4 1/2 out of 5.
