“Downtown accessibility without downtown rates”
Though it's not in downtown Portland, it is within the MAX's free rail zone. Just step outside, cross the street, and hop a free train anywhere else within the free rail zone. Pioneer Square and the waterfront are just 10-12 minutes away by train. Be sure to book in advance, since the neighboring convention center always has something going on, at least in the summer. Just one problem I had during the stay: Wi-fi coverage in the building is inadequate. I had to take my laptop into the bathtub or the hallway to connect at all. Even then, the link was dropped frequently during peak hours; people who stay here are apparently bandwidth hogs. Local calls from the rooms are free, though, so If you have home Internet service on a national network, bring a local Portland dial up number, just in case.
“Very Impressed”
Foe the charge of the room I was very please. it was clean, the staff was helpfu. the Max train right outside easy access to downtown. I will stay there again when I return.
“Close to great places!”
Reasonably priced. Clean. Nice view. Good location .
“For the Price, best hotel in Portland”
If you're wanting room service and luxury accommodations, this probably isn't for you. This is a much older establishment and it does show its age in many ways such as a frayed edge on the carpet and a slight "creak" when I opened the door. However, the cost was a third of what I've had to pay at other hotels in the Portland area. That's huge since I do have to attend various business meetings and conferences in town. The staff was friendly, accommodating and quick to offer needed information. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. I know others have complained about the outside noise of the Max line and trains coming through frequently. I never heard a thing. I'd definitely stay here again.
“Great Value for your Money”
I've stayed at this hotel a number of times when my trips take me near the Convention Center. I've been very pleased with the hotel. It's clean, quiet and comfortable. I'll stay there again.
“just what I wanted”
This hotel met all my basics needs. I went to Portland to experience Portland not to hang out in the hotel. It was a great place to sleep and get ready and the staff was wonderful.
“good hotel for less money”
good hotel, good price.I liked the service,I recommend this place
“Will Return: Great Room for the Price”
Location's ideal: right next to MAX light-rail stop (two stops from Downtown). Hotel is old & shows it, but room was very clean. The view over Downtown Portland was breath-taking! The Front Desk staff were some of the friendliest & most helpful I've ever experienced, and I've worked in the industry! Will definitely return, and recommend to all my family & friends as well! Conclusion: Convenience, Service, View, Cleanliness, & Price far outweigh it being a slightly dated hotel!
“Loved the View”
To me, a room is not a room unless there is a balcony or sliding glass doors to the room. This fit the bill for me perfectly, and with a great view of Portland, to boot. Very clean, comfortable room. No complaints.
“This is a very good hotel. I will definiitly come back”
Actually I like this Inn. It is the second time I chose this Inn for my trip in Portland. The price is reasonable and the service is pretty in time.
