“A bientot!”
My stay at the Villa Opera Drouot could not have been more pleasant. Located just a short walk from the opulant Opera Garnier, Palais du Louvre, and vibrant Montmartre, V.O.D. is a welcoming and charming little hotel that really captures the essence of the city. The multi-lingual staff is more than accomadating-they even lent me with an electricity adapter when mine didn't work. They rooms were clean and spacious, with tiny balconies overlooking the Franprix (best place for grocceries) and Folies Bergere! The elevator and hot water were fully functional and each room had WiFi and though overpriced-a minibar (with a great selection.) It is open 24-hours-so although you must leave your key at the front desk, you will never be locked out! I will definitly return to the V.O.D. on my next stay in the Opera district.
“Elegant”
I normally stay in cheaper three star hotels to keep some cost control for clients - however this time I went for a hotel I had spotted walking around my favourite area. I really liked it. OK, hasnt seen a refurb for a few years and this is no trendy boutique. But it is stylish and very Parisian. Great staff and a vast breakfast. (Over the road coffee and croissant for 3 euros) Great location with all my favourite restaurants around - I will go back again for sure. Very comfy bed.
“Villa Opéra Drouot : un cadre de charme pour rayonner sur Paris intra muros”
Bel emplacement, pour cet hôtel de charme très bien tenu, bon accueil, souriant, chambre en bon état, très propre. Je recommande.
“cher mais bon”
Accueil excellent.situé dans une rue calme mais bruyant le matin cause livraison de l'épicerie en face
“Great location, extremely helpful staffs & can't ask for more for budget hotel!”
The room is quite small but expected for Paris, great location, tons of choices for shopping, restaurants & the staffs are really kind & helpful!
“Good Value”
This is a quaint little hotel, close to metro and bus. It is not the best location in Paris but good quality price ratio. The free internet in the lobby was down half of the time I was there but the staff was most helpful in finding a partial work around plan, I would not rate it as a 4 star, as it has none of the luxury touches that would propel into that category. If you go, try the 'Zinc du caviste' restaurant it is a fun local restaurant with a good variety of wines and a menu with a mix of meals and typical French snacks.
“A hint of luxury in 9th arrondissement”
We had a fairly generously-apportioned room, pleasantly furnished with a large double bed. It was hard to shower without splashing the whole bathroom. The air-conditioning doesn't work, and our polite complaint was met with an offer to transfer hotels, which we did not want to do as our baggage was substantial. The next day, however, a portable fan was installed in the room. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly. The advertised bar was stocked with mostly empty bottles and was presumably there to gain an extra star in the ratings. I would recommend it at the Expedia rates, but definitely not at the rates posted in the room!
“Discret”
Hôtel très bien situé mais rien d'extraordinaire et certainement pas le room-service du traiteur du coin.
“The good and the bad...”
This hotel had some great points and some less than great points. Some staff members were warm and friendly and helpful; though we did miss two wake-up calls, causing us to lose one entire morning of our short trip. The location was good - a bit of a compromise from our desired location, but we opted to put air-conditioning above location. The biggest drawback therefore, was that the air-conditioning did not work. It seemed that it had not worked for a while and that there was no chance of it getting repaired any time soon. The one standing fan in the room did not compensate very well. While the room seemed clean, the linen had stains and degraded the overall appearance of cleanliness. We did enjoy the neighborhood with bakeries, many restaurants and grocery stores just seconds away. The metro was also only a few minutes walk. So - while our stay was not horrible, I will try another location next time.
