“Perfect for our Paris vacation!”
I can't imagine a better place to stay. Our room was just right for two adults and two teenagers. Most comfortable bed I've slept on in years! The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. And the neighborhood turned out to be just right – just a few blocks to the Place de Vosges and the Marais, close to the Bastille Metro station, within walking distance to Gare de Lyon, plenty of good shops and bistros in the 'hood. (Had a great meal at a place called Bofinger, and Les Artist cafe on the corner is terrific too.) Highly recommended.
“Citadines~ when only the best will do!”
My 7th floor apartment at the Marais Bastille Citadines was the BEST~ the desk faced French doors that opened to my terrace overlooking the rooftops of Paris & the top two thirds of the Tour Eiffel! The kitchen had top appliances, bone china&crystal wine stems, big refrigerator, granite countertops. Only needed to buy wine & food~ the Citadines supplies the linen dishtowels, new sponges, soap for the dishwasher, trash bags, liquid soap for the sink, etc. The terrace had a table and four chairs~inside the kingsize bed was very comfortable & there were four new down pillows [not feathers, but down] in crisp white shams and the duvet was also lightwieght down for summer covered in a crisp white 100% cotton duvet cover. Top of the line linens ~ I appreciated having the duvet cover ~more like home! There were framed reproductions of Van Gogh's Sunflower paintings on the newly painted walls. Two closets~ one with ample room for hanging clothes, shelf space for luggage, ironing board & iron, other closet had built in shelves, drawers,& a safe for valuables. Two very comfortable upholstered chairs, a lovely desk w/ chair, a chest w/ large flat screen TV/30 channels & stereo system in the livingroom. The hotel has umbrellas to borrow, carts to take to the markets~several nearby. Great bathroom~tiled walls & floor, hairdryer! ALL SPOTLESS! Staff is SUPER! Location GREAT! Since 1994, I have spent part of every summer in Paris & this is the Best place~I can't wait to return next year
“Great Bastile Hotel”
We stayed one night at this hotel July 5th. The staff speak English, very friendly and help you plan your day. We loved our stay in this hotel and will go back. Steps away from train station!
“I liked the hotel, but....”
The room had a non-functioning safe and stove top. I asked to have them fixed, and nothing was done. I like the concept of the hotel. I do think they should replace the fold-out couches with regularr beds as the couches are very uncomfortable.
“Excellent place to stay for family of 4”
Hotel has excellent location, 1 block from subway station, half block from grocery store. We spent 1 week in Paris and we were able to save a lot by having breakfast and dinner in our room. We highly recommend this Hotel to couple with kids. Front desk very helpful, they provided us with maps and clear direction to get to train station and main atractions. Definitely will stay same hotel if back in Paris
“Much recommended place”
Perfeclty and conveniently located place. Meeting all the expectations. Nice and helpfull staff - I felt really not like in the typical hotel but a sort of residence. Well equipped, clean an quiet. Certainly an address to remember.
“Excellent Customer Service”
The Citadines Bastille Marais was very conveniently located with a metro line running North/South within a couple of blocks and only a short walk from The Bastille which had numerous bus lines. The Customer Service was above and beyond any expectations. My friend was pick- pocketed on our first day and our trip could have been ruined if it were not for the help we received from the staff. The staff was also extrememly helpful directing us to places of interest close by. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Paris immensely. I loved the location and neighborhood we stayed in. Another customer pointed out the convenience of having a Casino grocery store close by. It is only a block away and proved to be an excellent resource to stock the kitchenette with some basic items. Be prepared that the coffee pot in kitchen is a hot water kettle so best to bring or buy instant coffee or use the coffee machine in the lobby. I will definitely stay at this hotel when I return to Paris and would choose any hotel in this chain if this is the level of service everywhere.
“Nice apartment hotel”
Agreed with other reviews, this is a nice, comfy and convenient hotel. We had a one bedroom apartment with 2 twin beds and 1 queen size sofa bed for our family of 4, the beds are comfortable. it is in a residentail area, coffee shop and pastry store are all nearby. The staff are friendly and greeted us when we came back. There is no room service during our 4 days stay. our room is very quite and the room size is comparable to American hotels. One thing I want to mention that since we arrived in the morning, the room was not availabe until 1 PM, so with sleepless night on the plane, we felt exhausted while waiting for the room.
“Nice hotel, great location”
The hotel is nice, clean and quiet. Friendly personnel. No luxury as you may guess for the price but a decent place to stay at. Room service will cost additional. Not a problem in our case since we spent only 3 nights there. It's a busy street and if your windows are facing the boulevard you won't want to keep a window open at night. All rooms are non-smoking. Which is good news for some. The kitchen in the room has everything you need, including a dishwasher and a toaster. You can buy food from a big supermarket just across the street. So we never tried the cafe at the hotel (breakfast was optional). Just cooked breakfasts and even dinner ourselves. The location is great, 5 min walk from Place de la Bastille and subway, within walking distance from Seine embankment. We did not find good restaurants in the neighborhood or maybe didn't know where to look. Cons: For some reason a night manager inquired if the booking was made via Expedia and then asked for a credit card. I later discovered that the amount equal to my expedia payment was frozen which made the card unusable. 3 weeks later it is still frozen. We'll see... On the day of departure there was no hot water. They explained that every room has an individual heater, which may need a check, but the technician would come after 10 a.m. We were offered another room but I declined since we only had to spend 3 more hours. I can say that overall experience is positive. Would definitely recommend it and may come back.
“Bastille neighborhood a plus”
Citidine Bastille Marais is an excellent value. The room was comfortable and clean. My only frustration was that there were no directions on how to use the television and the dishwasher which operate on a different system from typical American models. I would certainly stay there again.
