“Excellent hotel in a convenient area”
The Timhotel Le Louvre is located approximately two blocks from the Louvre and four blocks from the Seine. It is perhaps a twenty minute walk to the Cathedral of Notre Dame. There are two very nice bistros on the same block as the hotel which serve a wonderful dinner and are open until midnight or so. This convenience alone makes the hotel worth visiting. I also found the hotel staff to be helpful, the lobby and other public areas to be clean and (to my eye at least) perhaps newly renovated. My room was a bit cramped, but I suspect that this would have been the case at any similarly priced hotel in the area. I would definitely stay here on a return visit to Paris.
“Super Location”
Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff, clean room, though small, but this is Europe. Super location close to Lourve and Notre Dame!
“Great pick in central Paris for the budget minded”
While the Tim has the small rooms one gets in a budget-minded hotel, it is clean and comfortable in the way other less pricely places may not be. Nothing trashy here. Good bed. While the immediate restaurants are very touristy and not so great, it is walking distance to alot of the museums and sights, and finding a good place to eat in walking distance in Paris is not so difficult. Highly recommended.
“Great Location”
This hotel is convenient to the metro and the heart of Paris. We took the train from the airport (CDG) where the stop was only a few blocks from airport line (make sure you take a print out of the train stop in relation to the hotel ... the RER B line from CDG stops at Châtelet - Les Halles ... make your way towards the Forum Des Halles exit from underground). Yes, the rooms are VERY small, but then I have seen the same thing in New York and paid more in NY ... so don't spend so much time in the room, explore Paris!! Many places for a quick bite to eat surround the hotel. We also used Paris Vision tour service for a trip to Normandy (D-Day tour) and a Segway tour of Paris ... both tours were fantastic and riding the Segway's around Paris was such a fun way to see the city. We also took strolls to the Louvre and Notre Dame ... both are easy walks from the hotel with Notre Dame of course the longer walk. I would stay here again for just the two of us and they do have quad rooms for a family of four.
“Clean but spare room by the Louvre”
If your goal is having an acceptable place to sleep in a busy tourist area for as little money as possible, this hotel will do. It's clean, well-located and even, in a few touches, charming, such as the window boxes of flowers outside the rooms overlooking a tiny central courtyard. But unless your budget is very pinched, I cannot recommend it. It's spare. It has no AC, just a little fan, and air doesn't circulate well in the courtyard rooms, though they are quiet. The room has no hair dryer. The bed is basic, and there's not much room. Efforts at covering up renovations to the room consist of a coat of paint.
“Great Location”
I would definitely stay at this hotel again. All the people at the front desk were very friendly. The location was awesome. It is just a block from the Louvre and a metro stop. It was so easy to find each time I returned to the hotel. The rooms are small but that is typical of Europe, plus when you are in Paris who wants to spend the day in a hotel when there are so many sites to see in Paris?
“Room was tiny....”
Tiny room, but clean and shower hot. Excellent coffee in the lobby! The little patio court is charming with flowers hanging off the balconies all the way up to the roof. Polite and helpful staff. Fabulous little bistros nearby. Will stay there again, as it is a block from the Louvre, and reasonably priced for that location.
“location!”
The Louvre & the Palais Royale are 1 block away. Easy bus and metro connections to the rest of the city. A little pricey for a three star or perhaps just the low end of 4 stars but plenty good enough and great for the right bank 1st & 2nd arrondisements.
“Avoid this hotel”
I would definitely not stay here again. Right from the moment of check in, the staff were very rude and discourteous. The rooms are tiny and cramped and the comforter had a blue stain on it. The only plus is they are close to the Louvre museum.
