“Amazing location!!! Great hotel!”

Upon arrival our room was not yet ready, so we were offered hot drinks while waiting and then we were up graded to the selection suite which was great! We were located on the first floor overlooking the street, which can get quite noisy at night since the famous Buddha bar is located right across the street. The room was quite big and very comfortable!! The concierge was extremely friendly and resourceful when it came to making reservations and getting us in to real trendy and fabulous restaurants! Location is amazing!!!! Great exclusive shops all around! Will definitely go back! We had a wonderful experience!

“Best Hotel in Paris!!!”

The most beautiful hotel in Paris! We LOVED it! The decoration in the Lobby is simply gorgeous!!!! The rooms are fabulous! And their Lobby has the most exquisite perfumed aroma the second you walk through the doors!!!! Amazing hotel! Everone is exceptionally nice and the neighborhood is totally safe on a guarded street!

All of Paris!!!!
When to go
You can go to Paris any time of the year! Our grown, married children with small kids went on the Hop on Hop Off buses, the subways and walking. We did a private tour plus walked around a lot!
Getting around
Taxis, Hop On Hop Off Buses, subwys, walking.
What to pack
Pack informal or leisurely clothing unless you plan on going to any really fancy restaurants.

“Will go back again!”

We loved this hotel. The only thing was that I thought the standard deluxe room I had originally was very small for the price I paid, so I negociate with the front desk and paid extra to upgrade to an executive suite, but it was totally worth it. We had 2 lovely balconies and got free water, juice and coffee everyday. The concierge was so helpful with everything we asked for. I think everyone finds Paris beautiful and enjoyable, but my stay at the Sofital de Fauberg made it even better.

Area recommendations
The Buhda Bar across the street is one of the most romantic restaurant I had ever been, the food was great too and it's so close by.

“Perfect Hotel!”

The location of the hotel is perfect. Right in central Paris! The hotel was beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was a bit small, but otherwise it was fine for us. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Paris!

“Nice, comfortable, secure hotel”

This is a very upscale hotel. It is just off the lower end of the Champs Elysees. It is very secure as the street is under high security protection on both ends. This part of the street cannot be driven without approval from security guards. It is in an upscale neighborhood with Cartier, LaPerla and Hermes as its immediate neighbors. The hotel staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Although the hotel is a little older, it is very well kept. Our room was adequate and very quiet for our stay although our view was not very good. We looked out onto a courtyard and the other part of the building. Housekeeping was serious about their job. When we left our room for any period of time, it was checked and straightened up when we returned. That was a mind blower for us. The only down side was the hotel restaurant. It was pricey and the selections for breakfast were minimal and disappointing. Our overall stay was fantastic and this hotel made our trip more enjoying. I would use this hotel again if I ever have the chance to go back to Paris.

Area recommendations
I would definitely recommend the area that this hotel is in if you want to do high-end shopping, walk the Champs Elysees or just sightsee. It is so close to most of the sightseeing venues. Or, a taxi can be hailed less than a block away or bus tours are available close by, also. Walking is adequate for this area.
When to go
September was a good time to go for us. The weather was great compared to the hot, humid weather of Texas.
Getting around
Walking, taxis, buses are the thing unless you want to risk your life and rent a car. The driving is deadly. All sightseeing is very close for an inexpensive taxi ride or walking.

“Paris Hospitality at it's best”

A great hotel. The beds are extra comfortable and the hotel nice and quiet. The hotel is surround by the best shopping to the left and major sites to the right. The hotel street is blocked due to the American Embasy on the corner so not much traffic passes by. Any time we needed anything, the hotel staff was there immediatly to help us. This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. I would stay here again and again.

Area recommendations
We loved the Madeline area that the hotel was next to as well as momontre.
Getting around
Learn to use the metro. It was great once we figured it out.
Shopping
Found some of the best souvenir prices to be in the Monmontre neighborhood.
Outdoors or beach
We loved the Tuillerie Gardens.

“Very nice Hotel”

The check in is very good even we arrived around 8:00 am. We don't have to wait at all. The room was ready for us to take a nap before we started touring Paris. The bathroom is very nice, clean, new and roomy. Water pressure is very good. What I don't like is the glass door is only half way. If you like to soak in a tub is doesn't matter, but if you prefer a shower there might be a little issue. The hotel's staffs are nice and helpful. The hotel's restaurant is good, but not worth the price.

Area recommendations
The fun place is the Sucre Coeur area with the restaurants, the artists, the Musee de Savadore Dhali. Good food and reasonable price are along the Grand Boulevard. Champs Elysee is also the fun place to be. Try the Asian at George de V are very good in both Food and atmosphere and try the L'attelier . The Pompidue is also beautiful. Don't miss out the tour to Verseille palace and go early so you can have time to see the garden. I don't write about L'ouvere, notre dame, and musee d' orsey because those are places where everyone goes. I like the Garvin musee too.
When to go
Summer is a better time because the parisians go away. There is no traffic if you will take a trip to visit verseille palace.

“Would DEFINITELY fo back!”

This hotel was awesome! Great service and very friendly staff. They all went out of their way to accomodate us (ie. we forgot a converter and they loaned us one for the week). The area is beautiful and conveniently located. Metro is around the corner. Many places, ie. Champs Elysees are walking distance. It is an expensive area though so food and shopping is way over priced and you need to walk to find a place. Rue de Rivoli is right around the corner and there are tons of places to eat and shopping along there. Downside is the rooms are small, but they are very clean and modern-looking. Everyone in the hotel speaks English, which was very helpful. The hotel has a business center with only 1 computer and internet access is VERY expensive. If you need internet, bring a laptop and you have wi-fi access in your room. You can also make local calls from the business center or international calls using a calling card, rather than in your room so you don't get charged. Overall, very pleased with this hotel and when I travel again, I would like to stay at another Sofitel, as this is a chain.

Area recommendations
Latin Quarter has a lot of restaurants and shops. It is much less expensive and has good nightlife. Jewish Quarter (Marmais) - good food like in NY. Holocaust Museum. Montmartre - nice view from the hilltop. Dali Museum. Restaurants and small flea-market with painters doing portraits. Champs Elysees - food is not great, but its beautiful there and very lively, even at night. You can walk to the Arch de Triomphe from the Sofitel by taking the Champs Elysees all the way down.
Events and shows
I would recommend going to Moulin Rouge (although "touristy", it's very good - excellent performance). Expensive, but worth it. We booked directly through the hotel (without the dinner). They tell you to come 15 minutes earlier but I would come maybe 45 min. earlier as we got there and there was already a huge line outside. It's in the Red light district, but it was totally safe and heavily populated at night. We took the Metro there, which is right outside and a cab back (don't accept your 1st offer for a cab -they try to rip tourists off). Wine tasting with O'Chateau was also good and inexpensive. It is walking distance from the Louvre (and from the hotel) and has a nice atmosphere in a cellar. There is an amusement park with a ferris wheel and other rides and games across the street from the Sofitel - on the Rue de Rivoli. When going to the Louvre, if you don't have a museum pass you can buy tickets through a machine in the underground mall (Carousel) right by the Louvre with no lines. You can enter through there as well. If you buy tickets at the Louvre, the lines are extremely long.
