“Good for the price”
This hotel was not very expensive for a hotel in Champs Elysee (Although literally on the border of the neighborhood). Small and older hotel. Not the nicest hotel, but it was clean and had fantastic A/C. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Only 1.5 blocks from train subway stop.
“Excellent People”
Even though the bedroom was too small and also the elevator was good enough for only 2 people, I can not complain at all. People at reception, specially Ali, makes everything just fine.
“Great price, good location, nice hotel”
The staff at the hotel was extremely helpful; several people took the time to go over detailed instructions and walking directions for us, as well as to give us recommendations for what to see and do in Paris. The elevator was only big enough for one of us with our luggage, but both the room and bathroom were spacious. The free wi-fi in the hotel was a great perk. The location was good, with just a 5-minute walk to the Saint-Lazare metro station and the Opera. It was also just a 20-25 minute walk from the Montmartre area. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and would stay there in the future.
“Don't go back”
I would NOT recommend this hotel. The hotel staff was creepy and difficult. I have stayed in many hotels in Paris and in Europe and of course they are on average smaller than in the US. However the room was beyond cramped, with no room for even a suitcase. There was no ventilation so it smelled horrible, but if you opened the window the noise and smell from the busy street was horrible. The bathroom was average size for Europe, but the hair dryer was broken an the hotel staff was unaccommadating. The location is near the train station Gare St Lazare, which is convenient if you plan to take the Metro everywhere, but its quite a walk from most of the things you'll want to see if you plan to walk. Overall, just don't go back.
“Somewhat Underwhelmed”
Although it is tough to expect a mansion from a budget-priced hotel in downtown Paris, nonetheless the whole experience was somewhat underwhelming c.f. many other similar hotels I have stayed in over the years in Paris. The room size was OK but had a extremely funny shape with elongated corridor to access the bathroom. The shower was partially broken, and moreover the water pressure was pretty low, so getting comfortable shower was a challenge. Having said that, air-conditioning, LCD TV, and fast & free Internet were the pluses. The elevator was the smallest I have ever seen in any European hotel, but still functioned. The neighborhood was very convenient, 5 min walk from St. Lazare (SNCF&Metro), but was not the most pleasant neighborhood, represented by a food line at the adjacent square to the hotel---although safe and bustling with local shops during the day, at night everything closes and the neighborhood quiets down. The worst was the chartered van that the hotel seems to have a contract with. My companion had to leave early so they arranged a pickup. The quoted rate was 25 Euros. At the airport, however, the driver asked for 2 Euros more, citing that the fare was only to the "central" CDG and it would take the 2 E extra to go to either terminal 1 or 2. But what in the world is "central?" (The RER CDG station?). Next time we will be taking the Roissy bus for sure, as they have no such "extra" fee.
“Great base for exploring”
Excellent choice; we stayed there for 12 nights and would stay there again as it was convenient to several Metro stops, trains, etc. My husband was researching at the Biblioteque Nationale de France (Rue de Richeleu) and we always walked down Rue d'Amsterdam to the Hauvre/Caumartin metro stop and it was a quick trip east several stops to the library. And excellent department store shopping is about a 10-15 minute walk down Rue d'Amsterdam/Rue St. Lazare to the Boulevard Haussmann from the hotel. The good reviews were spot on. Ali and Mustafa and several others at the front desk were always friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed talking with Ali. Breakfast there is now 12 euros but it was always good and filling; we had it five times. (The best croissant though is at the Athens bakery cafe around the corner.) It was great to have A/C (were there during a heat wave), free Wi-Fi and a mini-fridge, where I kept bottles that I refilled with water. Also, the excellent Terrasse St. Lazare cafe just down the street (went there twice). No real complaints, however, a couple of times I could tell that part of the carpet on my side of the bed had been missed when vacuuming, but overall, the maintenance was very good (especially in the bathroom). Ali ordered us a shuttle to the airport. When we arrived, we lucked out by finding the Roissy Bus near our gate at the airport and it goes right to Place d'Opera, where we caught a taxi the short distance to the hotel.
“Great Small Hotel!”
This was a great little hotel for our short stay in Paris. The staff was so friendly and helpful that it really made our stay extra enjoyable. We were given maps and directions to anywhere we wanted to go. The staff called for taxis for us, helped us with our bags, provided breakfast and even helped us with information on the internet. The hotel was small, but had everything we needed. It was centrally located on a small street which made it easy to get around and was in walking distance to many major sights (4-6 blocks). It was within 2-3 blocks of all the major department stores. We would recommend this hotel to others.
“great hotel”
the hotel was everything i expected. small, cozy and clean. in the middle of the city. staff was outstanding.
“everything ok”
FOR THE MONEY WE PAY IT WAS VERY GOOD HOTEL. THE ELEVATOR IS ONLY FOR TWO PERSONS OR FOR ONE WITH ONE LUGGAGE(IF YOU HAVE 3 OF THEM YOU MUST GO UP&DOWN 3 TIMES. RECEPTION IS 24 HOURS THAT'S GOOD. IT'S A SMALL HOTEL NEAR THE CENTER OF EVERYTHING. ROOM NOW WAS OK AGAIN FOR THE MONEY WE HAD GIVE. SO I JOSE IT AGAIN IF I GO AGAIN TO PARIS.
“Great Little Hotel”
This was a great location to get around Paris. Near the opera and the metro. Small rooms and tiny little elevator for 2. This is to be expected in Paris though. Very accomodating staff.
