“Location great. OK if you need a bed for a night”
We picked this hotel because of its proximity to the train station Gare de l'Est. Rooms are extremely small. Bed very small for two persons. Hotel PC use is inexpensive but no printer.
“Stay in Paris”
Small rooms but clean. Very good location and convenient if the intention is to visit Paris but do not plan long staysin your room
“Cheap and basic with excellent location”
If you're ready to pay higher prices for the hotel, don't continue to read this and book something else. If you consider the hotel only as a place to sleep, and are satisfied with basic (but complete) amenities, and value other things, this may be a good choice. All basic items in the room were OK: comfortable large bed, clean sheets, soundproof windows, tiny but complete and working bathroom. The elevator works, staff are friendly and speak several languages. The breakfast (extra, but much cheaper than surrounding restaurants) is, again, a very basic but complete buffet (eggs, ham, cheese, fresh baguette and croissants, yogurt, hot and cold drinks ad lib). The location is very convenient: across the street from Gare du Nord (metro, RER, trains), walking distance from Montmartre. But this is not a place where I would invite any friends or business contacts to meet! If you need chic and glamour, this is not the place for you.
“Cheap hotel in Paris”
Walking distance from major subway hub and train station: Gare du Nord.
“Friendly hotel clerk”
Small hotel with a tiny elevator but the balcony had a great view of the train station. Hotel clerk was nice and helpful. Breakfast was not worth it.
“Inexpensive Paris Hotel”
Hotel was across the street from the train station and subway. We had a triple room and the rooms was quite small but that is to be expected in European Hotels. Lift was working but you still needed to walk up some stairs to get to your room. Skip the breakfast - there are better options on the surrounding streets. Hotel receptionist was very helpful. We arrived very early in the morning before our room was ready and they were able to store our luggage so we could do some sightseeing before returning to the hotel. This is a very basic hotel but it was convenient, clean and reasonably priced (for Paris.).
“Not Impressed :(”
Very small room with very small bathroom for that price. Was expecting much more for the price I paid.
“"Gare du Nord's Dirty Diaper Room"”
New Hotel Gare du Nord is too pricy for such small hotel room with low quality. The carpet under the table was wet all the time due to shower water came out from bathroom (table was against bathroom's wall). The table was not useful due to wetness underneath. We ate on the floor or use our luggage as eating table. We don't speak French, but tried to leave a note in the room to explain the problem but nothing happened for many days until we talked to front desk about it. They fixed the problem quickly. The room smelled like "dirty diaper" due to the damp area. Surrounding neighborhood was extremely noisy all day and night due to train station and drinking bars. Drunk people shouted all night, traffic noise and honking, sirens of fire truck, ambulance and police cars were on going all the time. The cleaner came everyday to make bed, do the trash, give new toiletteries but the bed sheets were not changed. We used the same bedsheets for the whole 8 days of staying. Location of hotel was convenient because the train station was right across the street and eatery places were along everywhere surrounding it.
“Good location but hotel and room just ok”
Stay there in end of april 2011. Good location, 10 meter (30 feet) from the train station. Room was clean but very old. It is just ok. Neighborhood strange and fill not safe at night. Sure you can find a nice place for the same price. But for one night it ok.
“"The New Hotel"”
Careful: Gare du Nord is not in the name. Great location on side street fifty meters from the glass entrance of Gare Nord. Clean, quiet, remodeled room with good bed, TV and plenty of hot water. The only problem is the walls are very thin and loud neighbors could be a problem.
