“Close to train station”
quick one night stay to catch early train was okay. elevator was broke had to walk 3 flights with luggage. Bkfst was good...rooms were clean and okay. Nothing fancy.
“Tres bon - good value”
Our room was clean and comfortable and the hotel staff very helpful. Great location with a Metro pass. Upgrade your room if going in the summer for AC or at least facing the back garden area for opening the window, as the front of the buiding has traffic noise. We were here in October so it did not matter.
“Rooms very small, but otherwise great.”
The hotel is small but conveniently located about 10 minute walk to the Seine. In addition, two train stations: Gare de Lyon and Gare de Bercy as well as an underground Metro station are in walking distance which made it easy to reach all the tourist attractions in Paris within 10-15 minutes. Unfortunately the room was a too small for a queen size bed which made storage a problem; however the bathroom had been renovated. The breakfast which was included was excellent. The staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly which made the overall stay a pleasure.
“Convenient location”
The main attraction to this hotel is location; proximity to the Bercy Metro station. You can walk up from the Metro and be in the hotel in less than a minute. The hotel is not located in the heart of Paris, but it's a 10 minute Metro ride to Notre Dame. The hotel is nice, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms are typically Parisean small, but comfortable and clean. It's in a nice neighborhood.
“Just plain ok if you don't spend time in the hotel”
The hotel, second floor, smell really bad. We weren't able to connec to the "complimentary internet" we told them serveral times that the internet password didn't work and they really could care less. The hotel is "clean" and breakfast is good. the people at the restaurant are really nice. Close to the Bercy, Garde du Norde station. It is ok.
“Very nice hotel”
The staff was very helpful, the rooms were comfortable and very clean and the metro stop was right out the front door. Will definately stay again.
“Very nice and cheap”
It was a very nice hotel that was in a goof price range. It was perfect for 3 nights to see Paris.
“Good hotel for a home base in Paris”
We were really impressed with the bathroom in our room. It was recently refurbished and was very clean and everything worked perfectly. The room was small but this is the norm for Europe. There is a metro stop right outside the front door so you are connected to the city.
“Pleasant sta”
We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Claret. We chose this hotel because of it's location near the train station and metro stops.
“Not really a 3-star hotel”
This hotel tries to sneak in at the low-end of 3-star hotels in Paris. The problem is, it follows the letter of the requirements to be a 3-star hotel, but not their spirit. For example, the TV is tiny and inconveniently located on top of a creaky closet; the table and chair are tiny and uncomfortable. The elevator itself is tiny and excruciatingly slow; you can't avoid it though, because the stairs are narrow and winding. Also, for some reason, the maid insists in leaving your window open (all day long!) after making your room, not the best idea on a cold Spring day. At the other extreme, I suspect the room will get unbearably hot in Summer. The bathroom was recently renovated, thankfully, but already the paint on the ceiling was getting flaky. There is no in-room safe and the lock on the main door looks very flimsy. On the positive side, the rooms are reasonably clean, the hotel is conveniently located, with the excellent 14th metro line close by, and breakfast is good. If your top consideration is price, this hotel will be OK, otherwise you'll be much better served by other 3-star hotels in Paris.
