“Location, and comfort!”
The Bel-Ami is located about two blocks from the St. Germain des Prés Metro station, in the heart of the delightful left-bank 6th arrondissement. Many sights and delights are within easy walking distance, and the Metro opens the rest of the city to you. While the hotel itself lacks a great restaurant (but the buffet breakfast is fine), there are many, many fine restaurants and cafés nearby, including Café de Flore and Café les Deux Magots, two of the most famous in the city. The hotel has a modern flavor to its design and decoration, sleek and smooth, and the staff (fluent in English) is young, energetic, helpful, and friendly. My room was comfortable, if not luxurious, and the street was quiet at night - the hotel is across the street from an elementary school. I'd go back in a second!
“Loved this hotel”
We found the Bel Ami to be a wonderful hotel for a week's stay in Paris. Although the room was quite small, it was very comfortable and the beds were better than any hotel bed I have slept on in the past. The hotel is close to the Metro and the bus line which made getting around a breeze. Most sights were within a short walk of the hotel. There were many wonderful places to eat right in the vicinity of the hotel so you won't ever be without good food and drink. Don't miss the salted caramel ice cream at the gelato place on the Rue de Seine - incredible - or the wonderful bakery at the corner of Rue de Seine and Rue de Bac. We would definitely go back to this hotel.
“Very impressed”
excelent!
“I love Paris”
This hotel was superior to most other hotels that we have visited in Paris. The room was a comfortable size (larger than other hotels we stayed in) with adequate space for luggage and storage for clothing. Both my husband and I had adequate drawer space and hanging space. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very helpful and everyday they checked the rooms to see if there were any problems; there never were any problems. WiFi was available in the rooms and there were two computers in the lobby. All of the staff spoke English. The concierge was very helpful, making reservations for us every night for dinner, and recommending good restaurants. Although he location was around the corner from Deux Magots, the street was quiet and peaceful. We would definitely return to Hotel Bel Ami.
“hotel bel ami: très bien situé et déco contemporaine”
très bon hôtel à la décoration particulièrement soignée ; idéalement situé dans paris, personnel très diligent; seule restriction: les chambres de catégorie standard sont très petites
“A Fine Hotel in a Great Location”
Hotel Bel Ami is located in the St. Germain des Pres area, a great location for visiting the Musee d'Orsay, the Louvre, strolling along the Seine, shopping, etc. The hotel is expensive but worth it, if you are treating yourself to a splurge. The staff is very gracious & extremely professional. The common areas of the hotel are elegant & well-maintained. A rather lavish breakfast can be had at the hotel, but it is very expensive. The only real problem we encountered was the size of the room: It was SMALL! We had nowhere to put our garment bag, except the floor. But the bed was wonderfully comfortable & large. We did learn, however, that small hotel rooms are common in Paris hotels.
“will use this hotel again”
This hotel was amazing! the staff were very friendly and so polite from the start, always saying hello and good evening every day. The rooms were tastefully decorated, however there was a lack of space for clothes, they were cleaned every day and in the evening you were given even more clean towels and a weather update for the next day also which helped to decide what you might do if there was rain, and if there was rain you even got an umbrella for use too, they had thought of everything with fresh linen, bathrobes and slippers, complimentary water and biscuits a free pariscope guide at the main reception to help plan your evenings all which added to make you feel very welcome too. the concierge was extremely helpful in confirming reservations and booking of taxis too. Felt safe in the knowledge you needed a key to use the lift and stairs so nobody wandering about that didn't stay there. Would use this hotel again for the sauna, gym and bar lounge which shows old movies all the time. ten out of ten.
“Great location, nice neighborhood”
Great location to some of the best cafes in paris (30sec from Cafe de flore and Cafe Deux Magots and 1 Min from the Brasserie Lipp) The steakhouse/restaurant (R.F.) across the street was fantastic. We walked in around 11:30PM right before they close and all the waitress asked was how i want my steak done (Rogue of course!). Totally my kinda place! Excellent food without even seeing the menu!. All the hotel staffs spoke english well and were nice and friendy (Despite what you've heard about parisian.) The concierge was helpful in recommending high quality yet affordable restaurants in the st. germaine area and in securing tables for us. Overall, i will definately go back to this hotel in the future. Minor point. We were there during the winter so have our window closed all the time, but still heard noises from the school/fraternity house? across the street around 8-9 am. Minor problem but might be problematic in the summer i can imagine.
“Beautiful stay.”
From the moment we arrived it was a pleasure. We were shown two rooms and ended up choosing the favorite of the reception desk clerk checking us in, whose name we didn't get, sadly. Emanuela, who is somewhat new to Paris from Sicily, was lovely, and very kind. The concierges were incredibly helpful, and everyone was very patient with our extremely limited French, and spoke English well. I highly recommend l'Hotel Bel Ami.
“The best!!!!”
What a special place! This is the best hotel experience that I have had in Paris, after countless visits there. The staff went out of their way to accomodate us, and the hotel is extremely user-friendly. All the right touches -- very comfortable bed, IPhone docking in the room, free Wi-fi, an extremely competent consierge service. We were so very happy, and will be sure to return!
