“Great for central Paris”
Clean, pleasant and convenient. Staff were very helfpul. Breakfast was simple but very fresh and served in a very pleasantly decorated room. Would go there again.
“Great location”
Despite the small room size, this is a lovely small, clean hotel with good service. The location could not be any better for someone interested in art galleries, shopping, strolling, sitting in cafes and people watching and eating great food. My only complaint was the breakfast was not great and we were not told upon check in that it was not included, so we had an unexpected bill at the end.
“Just like staying in someone's home...”
I stayed for 3 nights at the DSG and I really enjoyed it. My room was on the top floor so it was very quiet, despite the very busy neighbourhood it's in. The decor is reminiscent of an English country home- chintzy, comfy, candles about and even some personal photos ( the owners, perhaps?). The elevator was out of service when I arrived but was fixed the next day. The room was lovely and the bathroom was small but clean and effiecient. I would certainly stay there again.
“Compact & charming !”
My refuge for my last night in Paris, having returned from the South of France, The Hotel Dauphine is very well positioned on the Left Bank. My room was small (as often in Paris) but nicely decorated, quiet, clean and well equipped..hairdryer, etc. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful & friendly politely enduring my less than perfect French. Yes I would return & recommend this sweet little hotel. S Toronto
“Good, not Great”
This seemed like a hotel that used to have a lot of character and care, but since has lost some luster. the positives: Staff was friendly and it's in a central location. Downstairs bar and restaurant are nice though expensive. negatives: noisy bar right next door that goes until 3 in the morning. Rooms are no longer high quality. soap scum and crust caked on the showerhead and in the tub, rusted tissue holder, bathroom door had water damage and peeling paint, curtains and carpet were starting to be worn looking, bed was starting to sag.
“Great Place”
Will stay here again
“Plan to Return This Fall”
The location of this hotel was very convenient. I took the train from the airport to within a couple blocks of the hotel. I walked to all the top tourist sights - Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Tuileries gardens, Luxumbourg gardens, Champs-Elysees, Place de la Concord, Tour Eiffel, Invalides, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Marais district, and Pompidou Center. (Walking is the best way to see central Paris, and I love to walk). I did take the metro or train to Montmartre, Versailles, and to a small art gallery further out from the city center, but the metro / train system was very convenient to the hotel. The neighborhood was great with all its shops and cafes. I felt very safe in this area. As a woman travelling alone, this was important. My room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. For Paris, I think the room was a good size. I do wish that an in-room safe had been provided, although the hotel was secure and staffed 24/7. Everything was kept very clean. The staff at the hotel could not have been friendlier or more helpful. They let me practice my French and helped me with learning more vocabulary. They provided directions and information whenever I needed it. The breakfast was outstanding. I highly recommend spending the extra each day to enjoy it in a beautiful, cozy breakfast area. It's a great way to meet others and plan your day. I'm already planning a return visit in September.
“Very nice hotel. good staff and fast internet”
I really liked this hotel. It was a good deal and had very nice staff. They made numerous restaurant reservations and called cabs that we wouldn't have been able to do with our limited French.
“Good location, bad bed”
This hotel is located near the red-light district of Montmartre. The night life is active, the Sacré Coeur is just moments away, and you can see all of Pari from here. The room was what you'd expect for the price. The staff were still cleaning at 4pm and everything was in the hall, it was noisy, and the rooms are a bit cramped and you can feel the springs. It was good for one night, but maybe not much longer.
“Good Hotel for Exploring St. Germain and Left Bank”
thought the hotel was very charming. And, as a lot of people have mentioned, the hotel rooms are small, but this is Paris and buildings are much much older. I found the receptionists to be very pleasant. There is breakfast that you can opt to buy, but since it was my first visit to this neighborhood I opted to grab breakfast at a nearby cafe. The room I was in was pretty comfortable. The bathroom was clean and my bed was comfortable. My window showed a view of the interior courtyard (not much of a view), but the location was very convenient. I was close to: Pont Neuf, within walking distance to the Metro, Musee D'Orsay, and the Louvre. If you want to explore, St. Germain and the Left Bank, this is a good hotel for that.
