“Would never go back”
Bedbugs!!! We were scratching all night. We had two different rooms and were all infested with bedbugs!! When I told the rude lady at the front desk, she just responded as it was ok. The hotel was very run down; nothing like thier website. he couches in the lobby are so old; there is no cushion on them anymore. The shower didn't even have room for me to lift my arms to shampoo my hair.
“Great Staff and location”
This was my second trip to Paris and it was a delightful experience. I stayed at the Hotel Academie and the staff were great and very helpful. The location you can't beat. I did not eat breakfast there but everything looked good. I chose to walk around the neighborhood and eat at different places but I did hit Eric Keyser's place several times. The rooms are small but clean. If you are a larger person opt for a room with a bathtub as the shower is very small to get in and out of. if you need a ride to and from hotel, use their service as it's cheaper but be aware that they will drop off and pick up along the way. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
“Well worth it”
While the rooms tend to be a bit small, our stay was delightful. The staff was very accomodating. Excellent location within walking distance of excellent cafes, as well as the Louvre, Notre Dame, and the Latin Quarter.
“Could find better”
Was not impressed with hotel staff and service. Staff kept pushing room upgrade and breakfast and additionals to rack up the charge. Cleanliness of room was average, at best. Most redeeming quality is the location of hotel. But it stops there. Small room was expected, so no surprise. Breakfast not worth it.
“Hotel Staff made the vacation wonderful even with our lost luggage.”
So how do I begin. My wife and I traveled to Paris during Christmas Break 2010 and the Paris airport cancelled all flights. We made it to Paris via train and found the Hotel. They did not have the room we booked and upgraded us to the next size. It was fantastic. The staff were understanding and helpful as the airport lost all of our luggage. They helped us with any questions and best locations to get clothes and food. They even guided us to the landmarks....we must have gone through about 5 maps as they became worn during our travels. The hotel was fantastic and it felt more home than an actual hotel. All and all --> it is the staff that makes this a best choice. Oh and near Metro, buses and central to all locations and hotspots in Paris. We originally was going to book next to the Eiffel Tower and am glad we chose a more central location. Will recommend to all friends and anyone who travels to Paris.
“Dissatisfaid”
Not wish to repeat this experience. On my next trip to Paris I will read all the reviews of the hotel!
“Excellent Location”
This hotel is in the beautiful neighborhood of St. Germain. The feel is more apartment like than hotel, but that suited our needs as the hotel was close to the metro, there are quaint cafes in whichever direction you turn, we could walk to the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, and Notre Dame. The hotel does not have many amenities but the basics are comfortable and clean. They have a computer for guests to access the internet, which was great. It was worth staying here just to be in a great neighborhood at a reasonable price.
“the best location”
The rooms are too smal and they were a little old but the place is the best.
“Charming and Affordable”
While the standard rooms are quite cozy (european for small), for a small charge, the upgrade to a deluxe room is worth the price. The hotel is located just off Boulevard St. Germaine and is centrally located to most of the tourist points of interest. I cannot praise the staff at the hotel highly enough. There was a need for an ambulance the first night of the stay, and two of them arrived with 8 medical techs within 5 minutes. Both the day and night shift were highly professional and friendly. I was more than a room, I was a part of the family for a week. This hotel is perfectly situated and suited for a visit to Paris.
“A wonderful small hotel.”
The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located just two blocks from the Seine (across the river from the Louvre) and one block from the shopping and restaurants of Rue St. Germain. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Yes, the rooms were small, but We've stayed in just as small in New York City. We loved this hotel and hope to return.
