“Even Better Than Expected”
We stayed at the Ingleside based upon reading several Expedia reviews and we were not disappointed. The service was especially noteworthy, whether it was the frontdesk personnel offering to bring us out bathrobes to the pool or the bartender taking the time to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. This hotel may not be the best choice for a family with young kids but it is truly worth a try if you'd like to sample a hotel with real character, think the original Palm Springs of the 50's Hollywood era, and genuine hospitality!
“Secluded but close to downtown”
The personal service at Ingleside must be legendary! When we checked in it was dark, and the gentleman at the desk walked alongside our car to show us where our villa was located and where to park. Our villa had one of the most secluded entrances and terraces, was very private, and perfect for a leisurely breakfast. The room was a bit smaller than expected, but quaintly luxurious, and didn't look "hotel-y". Having complimentary beverages in the fridge, a fruit plate, and up-to-date magazines in the room was wonderful, as we arrived late after a long drive. The only drawback was walking the first two blocks of downtown next to the Inn in the dark, a bit sketchy where businesses have moved out. The Ingleside is definitely going to be our new Palm Springs home. I almost hate to share the information!
“This kind of service is not around so much anymore.”
They know how to treat a guest. I travel extensively and really appreciated the service.
“Old Palm Springs”
All the rooms are of different sizes and decor. They were very quaint and well maintained. The bathrooms were especially nice although there was not a tub. It was very quiet and the service was special ie; they will come and start a wood burning fire for you, although all rooms fo not contain a fireplace. There is a refrig in each room stocked with water and soft drinks and also a basket of fruit and cheese in each room free of charge. The frig is restocked daily.
“Great hotel for a first time visitor to Palm Springs”
Suite in the old building next to the lobby was well worth the extra cost as there was a large living room and bedroom, plus a private patio with a table/umbrella, reclining deck chairs, etc. Two TVs and a working fireplace wih plenty of wood. The style and decorating were somewhat retro but very pleasant. The staff was exceptional.
“Palms Springs get away”
We are welcome with a gift basket, the ref has complimentary botted water, juice and soda. More than we expected, the room is good size, plenty of room for two of us, has magazines, and books to read.. The location is walking distance to restaurants and shops. The staff are friendly, we will return to this lovely place again!
“Relaxing Retreat”
The history, character of the hotel and people makes the Ingleside Inn a place to relax. It felt like time stood still at this place. The people were great and friendly.
“Great spot in downtown PS”
Great place to stay in downtown Palm Springs. Walking distance to Palm Canyon Drive. Older but VERY well maintained rooms. The hotel's landscaping is beautiful. Great bar and restaurant on site
“Very relaxing!”
The hotel had so much character and the staff were very friendly. The complimentary beverages at the pool were self-service, but a great deal for a casual day in the sun. And the pool was open 24-hours, what a great deal in the summer when the temperature is warm enough to swim late into the night.
“A Great Place to Relax!”
In 1935, the Ingleside Inn was created from a private 2 acre estate----our room was obviously retro-fitted with a built-in wall heater and air conditioner which adds to the authenticity of this old structure. Our favorite part of this 20-room hotel was not as much the room, but our beautiful courtyard, complete with large lawn area, colorful plants and flowers, and a restful extra-large fountain placed right in the middle. The fountain goes perfectly with the Spanish-style architecture! Everyone at the hotel did their very best to make sure we were enjoying our stay. This hotel has a long history of celebrity guests, and the owner has written a book detailing some of this history (it was available in our room-----and it was very enjoyable to read). My wife and I agree that we will definitely stay there again the next time we find ourselves in Palm Springs.
