"This is a lovely place to stay. We were well looked after, my gluten free dietary needs were catered for and the staff were very accommodating. The house is old so we expected that the rooms might be ‘quirky’ but we had a dangerous fault with our shower that could have resulted in serious scalding incident. We have informed the managers so they can deal with it. Dinner was 5* as you’d expect in a place with a chef of this calibre - wine and port also excellent. Pricey, but not excessive....

"What a diamond we’ve found. Beautifully situated and good parking. Spotless clean throughout the period property with a sense of luxury. Extremely comfortable stay which I was made even more special by the young lady at reception who booked us in early and served us at breakfast. We are dairy and gluten free by allergy which can be challenging to find suitable restaurants however the hotel catered for us and probably one of the breakfasts we’re had in a long time. "Really pleased with the hotel, 10 second walk to the promenade and beach and in an ideal location. The hotel is well maintained. The restaurant was good with generous portions and the staff were helpful and friendly. Bonus of free on street parking."

"It’s a castle . In itself that delivers a degree of grandiosity. Very impressive elements of period decor and artifacts on display . Parking was fine on multiple days . Town is a short walk down the drive . Peacocks everywhere, you won’t miss them . A very pleasant place to stay "
