“Loved our stay”

“Pleasant Surprise”

Booked hotel online and was drawn towards the price. We originally booked a single room with two beds, but upon arrival we were offered an upgrade due to the quiet time at the facility. The cabin we were in contained two bedrooms and a sofabed, so could accommodate six. The unit was clean, bright and had everything anyone could need for an extended stay. The kitchen was well equipped and included a full fridge, stove and microwave with complimentary coffee or tea. The bedding and towels were clean and changed daily if requested. The unit contained a fireplace and TV for those cooler nights. Although this unit would sleep six, the sofabed appeared to be rather hard and I am sure not as comfortable as a bed. The waterslide and mini golf had a nominal fee for use, but not having young children, this was not an issue. The waterslide was monitored to ensure the safety of young guests. The inground pool was free and had lounge chairs surrounding it and towels available for guest use. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area and local sites. The downside, is that this resort is not ocean front, but is within a short walk. For those camping, there is an outdoor bbq, awnings set up and each accommodation has a picnic table. Fire pits are available, including wood. This place is a do-over and I will be returning.

While my kids enjoyed the outdoor pool and mini-golf, my husband and I were less than impressed with this "resort." It appears that all the hotel staff smoke and despite a "non-smoking room", it was hard to retreat from the smell of cigarette smoke everywhere! No a/c in room so windows had to be open (thus more smoke!) and the traffic was quite noisy on the busy road by the hotel. The mini golf and big water slide were not complimentary for guests of the hotel, which was also too bad. Don't think we'll be back.
