“Luxurious but simple”
Our stay at the Black Rock hotel was amazing. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was luxurious and the fireplace and TV were very inviting and warm. We loved the decor of the room and were very pleased with everything. The shower was amazing and the bathtub was beautiful. We really liked the window from the bedroom to the bathroom. The kitchenette was small, but met our needs. It had a wonderful microwave oven/oven that was great for warming left over pasta. The grounds to the hotel were amazing and the view outside the front deck off the lobby was amazing. The only thing we were not satisfied with at the hotel was the restaurant. We arrived at the hotel fairly late and really only wanted a light meal like a sandwhich, but all the restaurant would serve was it's gourmet dishes that really sounded like way too much for our small appetites. overall, we really enjoyed this hotel and would definately recommend it to anyone.
“Would definitely return”
We would definitely stay here again! The resort and our room were beautiful - we had a 1 bedroom. Comfortable bedding, great views, clean and modern rooms. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This is a relatively new resort - the spa and hot pools were not quite complete when we were there, which was a bit disappointing. My only negative comment was the restaurant - the food was fantastic but the portions are relatively small. My husband asked for a second plate of bread. Ucluelet itself is a small town, not as "touristy" as Tofino, which we relly enjoyed.
“Definitely going back! See you next year!”
Everything was absolutely wonderful, the only time we were disappointed was with the staff in the restaurant in the morning, we did feel ignored, waitress made up for it after and apologized, hopefully next time we will be happier. Thanks !
“Great place”
Right on the ocean - beautiful setting. Resort is still new, so all the amenities are not yet up and running. When they are, the place will be even better. We had "rainforest view" (read trees and parking lot), but if you can afford it, upgrade to "Ocean view".
“Amazing Get-Away!”
The rooms are beautiful...the scenery outside our rooms were breathtaking and the location was PERFECT!
“Perfect for Honeymooners”
We were on our honeymoon, and the hotel room was very romantic - fireplace, giant soaker tub, views of the ocean and the trees. We didn't have dinner at the restaurant, but ate tapas style in the lounge. The bison sliders were great! If you are in Ucluelet, you must try Norwoods for dinner - best dining experience ever!
“Looking forward to a longer stay next time”
The hotel was stunning, we were amazed by the lobby and the room was incrediable. The rainfall shower, deep soaker tub, kitchenette, and the view! Everything was beautiful and functional, exquisitely designed. We had appetizers and drinks in the lounge at sunset. We did not want to leave the next morning! We plan to try the restraunt and spend more time in the spa on our next trip. I've already recommended it to several friends, and felt surrounded by luxury well after we left.
“Great design in wild setting”
The hotel has a great design, the rooms are big and comfortable and the staff were all great. The restaurant was also a winner!
“Romantic getaway”
Hotel has lovely modern rooms with all the amenities one could ask for in a brand new suite. Stayed in one of the cottage buildings (4 suites to a building) immediately beside the main hotel. Suites have Impressive bathrooms, Large LCD tv, DVD player, upscale microwave, dishwasher, and range top, fireplace, breathtaking views of the roaring Pacific ocean (waves smashing up against the black rocks just off your balcony. Upscale restaurant in the hotel with lovely (and pricey) food. Nature paths to explore. Highly recommend this beautiful spot, and will return again.
“Fantastic Black Rock Resort”
The location is breath taking, the facilities are great, the scenery is amazing and the dining room was exceptional.
