Absolutely terrible experience!
Run. Do not walk away from this listing. We arrived on a Sunday evening. After doing an inspection of the property we noticed several issues/defects that were not represented in the property listing. The back door was open, the door from the kitchen to the garage was locked from inside the garage(could not access the laundry or beach amenities), of the thirty or so cafe lights responsible for illuminating the backyard, three were working, there were missing smoke detectors/CO detectors, the dishwasher was on the fritz, the coffee maker worked sometimes, the backyard was a mess and overgrown, the outdoor furniture was buried in the dirt, and the outdoor table was broken. We contacted the homeowner right away. It took 5.5 days for anyone to ahow up to address any of the issues and when they did they had to jimmy the garage door open and stuff paper towels in the lock to prevent it from locking improperly. They got the dishwasher working, but once they left it stopped again. The homeowner was rude and accused my wife and I of imagining everything. He was compleltely dismissive and rude. On top of the homeowner, VRBO has been an absolute disaster to deal with. We have spoken to over 10 reps with ZERO resolution. They repeatedly push it back to the homeowner and he does not respond. We spent tens of hours on vacation on the phone with VRBO and they have offered a total of $150 in compensation. The experience could not have been worse. Run away!!!
