“Hightly recommended”
Except for our bad timing as we stayed the weekend of Katrina.....we had a wonderful stay here and would high recommend this hotel to travelers. It is extremely convenient to Universal Adventures and City walk. A Walgreens and a TGIF is within walking distance so the entire weekend is a "gas" saver. My only negative would be the hotel charges 5.00$ per day to self-park your car. I would assume parking would not usually be an additional charge.
“Beautiful Hotel”
Professional employees, great service, comfortable beds and pillows. (I think I'll look for those pillows and mattress for my own home.)We will definitely return.
“You WILL NOT be dissappointed”
This hotel IS literally at the entrance to Universal. Close to shopping, restaurants, and right off I-4. The staff was more than great. Room was a typical-sized room, but was spacious ( we had 2 queen-sized beds), The beds were the most-comfortable we've ever slept in at a hotel. We even ordered the same pillows off the internet when we got home, they were that comfortable. The parking lot was huge and right at the front door. I would definitely reccommend this hotel to friends and family. The bellboy was very cute.
“Very nice place”
This hotel was chosen after a horrible experience at another hotel. This place was great, clean and comfortable and the staff was helpful and friendly. it's about 900 steps to Universal studios give or take. There is a 12 dollar parking fee, which is the only drawback. I would definatly stay here again.
“Great Universal Park Location”
This was an excellent location to the entrance at Universal and Island of Adventures. We did not rent a car because we walked everyday to the parks and Citywalk. No Disney this go around, kids are too grown for that. It's about a 10-15 minute walk. The weather was perfect everyday for the Christmas break. There are great food locations within walking distance too, Cracker Barrel, TGIF, Golden Corral, etc. Walgreens is next to Golden Corral for incidentals and snack foods. Those Sleep Number beds are great to sleep on. Will definitely stay at this resort again.
“Would stay here again.”
On Expedia it only mentioned there would be valet parking fees - did NOT say anything about regualr parking fees of $12/day. We had 2 adults & 3 teeagers - Expedia did NOT mention anything about an extra $20 fee per night to rent a cot. We ended up having a teenagers sleeping on the floor. Had I known this I would of spent less money to stay at the Hoilday Inn. This was the only disappointment!! As far as the DoubleTree it's self - excellent!!
“A quick, but wonderful visit”
A late check in and late check out provided my traveling companion and I with a wonderfully relaxing stay. The bed and pillows were dreamy; the hotel was within 3 minutes of where we needed to go. I would definitely stay here again!
“great hotel”
This is a great hotel the only problem we had was the Wifi access
“Good hotel in close proximity to Universal and Other attractions”
Hotel was clean and tidy and offered many amenities for guests, bar, coffee shop, deli, restaurant. Hotel was extremely helpful in organising attractions and transport and general enquiries. Room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Even though hotel guest, car park charges apply. Great access to Universal studios and easy to get onto International Drive and I4 for other attractions. Quietly away from the hussle of International Drive, local Shopping Mall only a 5 minute drive with shops and restaurants. TGI's across the street if you don't want to drive in the evening as well as restuarant in the hotel. Good place to stay even if for short period.
“Excellent”
Great location, directly across from Universal! Comfortable rooms, especially the beds. Roomy, on site food. Everything we expect in a good hotel!
