“Hated to leave!!”

I cannot say anything negative about this beautiful hotel. The staff is professional, courteous and responsive to all requests. Our room was large, spotlessly clean, comfortable and with the balcony I had requested. Breakfast provided was delicious and there is much to choose from. I enjoyed the location of the hotel (it is a 10 minute stroll to the Ponte Vecchio). The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. It was nice after a wonderful day, great dinner, to go back to our room and enjoy the evening sitting on the balcony planning our next day.

“Wonderful hotel”

An absolutely beautiful hotel, with a very nice staff. It's only down side is it's a bit off the beating path, but if you like to walk, its no problem. Very elegant furnishings, and very quite. Nice romantic hotel as well. Would go back and stay again.

“Absolutely Fantastic...If it's the type of place you're looking for...”

Everything has been upgraded to the latest and greatest -- but the hotel manages to maintain an "old-world" feel. The staff was extraordinary in every category. I honestly don't have any complaints. I saw the comments from other travelers regarding the walk. I think it depends on what you want to do. If what you are looking to do is be a tourist, may seem a bit inconvenient. If you want to experience Florence (I know because I used to live there), this is an ideal place to base yourself.

“Quiet Location”

The hotel was in a quiet part of of the city, about a 10 minute walk from the center of town. The room was spacious, nicely decorated with comfortable beds and pillows. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers to Florence.

“Great Hotel”

The Montebello Splendid was really great. It is a really beautiful hotel. The staff was generally very nice and helpful. It is a bit of a trek to the center of the city from this hotel, but its not too bad at all. I actually enjoyed being on more of a quiet side street. I would highly recommend this hotel.

“Simply Splendid!”

Don't miss this one! Its a jewel. Rooms are very well kept, extremely clean, a Jacuzzi with an exclusive wet pillow is a dream, breakfast is wonderful, people are very friendly, exceeded my expectations!

“great hotel”

Loved the hotel. I did not expect such a high end hotel for the price. The hotel is beautiful and very modern. Very tuscan style. Amazing buffet for breakfast. The room was amazing. Computer internet in the room, mini bar, heated floors, amazing baths. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the center of town and popular sites.

“Better than I could have wished for....”

its not the cheapest hotel, but then Florence isn't the cheapest of destinations, but we were looked after well at the Montebello Splendid. They even managed to find us a room for an extra night when our flight homes was cancelled. The walk into town is a little bit longer than you might wish for, but it does give you a chance to walk off all that wonderful florentine food. I can't reccomend the hotel enough.
