“Would use this place again”
Concierge was extremely polite, friendly, helpful and accomodating. Our room exceeded our expectations- hairdryer, bigger-than-we-expected bedroom. Biggest plus to this hotel is the location- its right on the corner of Nationale & Faenza, which is SO close to the Duomo area. Breakfast buffet included (coffee, pastries, cereal, meats/cheeses), etc. Literally a 2 second walk to the train station. You cannot go wrong with this place!!
“Outstanding value for money!”
Characterful hotel which is conveniently located and clean. I couldn't expect more for the price paid. Staff were lovely, breakfast good and views from our room amazing! To be recommended.

“Would Not Hesitate to Book This Hotel Again”
As an American living in Europe for 6 years, I am accustomed to the differences between European accommodations and those in the US. That being said, the Machiavelli Palace was well worth the price. It was no thrills, but clean, friendly, and safe. The lobby staff went out of their way to be nice to my family. Everyone spoke english and were helpful. Do not think twice about staying here.
“Have a Great Stay at Hotel Machiavelli”
The hotel offered everything you could ask for from a three star establishment. Its location near to the station is ideal as is the proximity to the major attractions in Florence. We had a room on the 5th floor with a magnificent view across the skyline of the city and away to the Tuscan Hills that surround it. The staff were really friendly and helpful and couldn't have done more to make our stay comfortable. The buffet breakfast was ample to set you up for the day (though the coffee machine was somewhat eccentric)
“great location, staff and breakfast!”
This hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station. It's on the corner of an alley that leads to all good things in Florence. The staff was very polite and helpful, checking train times for us, giving directions for places we wanted to see. The rooms were nicely decorated. Breakfast of yogurt, cereal, cheese, meat, breads, croissants, fruit, and more was included and delicious. We stayed for one night and then came back a week later and stayed another night. The man behind the desk remembered us! We definitely recommend this hotel.
“Excellent hotel in Florence!”
The location and overall experience at the Hotel Machiavelli Palace was excellent. The staff was friendly, spoke excellent English, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast was great, with a lot of variety to please everyone. If I had to find one downside, it was that the pillows were too flat and hard for my liking, as I am a down pillow user. But the location was perfect, as it was close to the train and bus stations, and it's much preferable to not have to transport your luggage very far from the train to your hotel and then have a little ways to walk to the major sights, than the opposite. That being said, the hotel was easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping, markets, grocery stores and major sights. We would definitely stay there again when visiting Florence.
“Best hotel in Italy”
My family of 4 recently spent a week in Italy and we cannot say enough nice things about the Hotel Machiavelli in Florence. Trying to maximize value and location, we found our "home" in Florence perfect. We walked to the Oltrano, the Uffizi, the Accademia, and everywhere in between. We received prompt emails from the hotel staff before our trip when we needed help finding the closest rental car agency. The staff always had good restaurant recommendations. The breakfast included meats, cheese AND all of the other typical European breads/jams. Our room (for 4) was huge, spotless and quiet. Just around the corner is great, nicely priced souvenir shopping as well as many shops with local goods (leather, masks, scarves, shoes) at better prices than closer to the Duomo and other attractions.
“Not sure what the other reviewers experienced on here, but we were happy”
We just got back from Florence and I had to write a review of The Hotel Machiavelli Palace. This is by no means a 5 star hotel, but if you're visiting a city, most of your time should not be spent sitting in your room anyway. We found the room to be in good working order, with a flat screen tv (CNN was the only English channel, unfortunately). There was a good sized bathroom and the water pressure was great. Everyone we encountered was very nice, hospitable and gracious to us, so I'm not sure what these other reviewers dealt with. The bed, I will say, was rather hard, but we were so tired that we didn't notice it. The location of the hotel cannot be beat! You were about a 10 minute walk away from everything, which was perfect. There are tons of restaurants in the area (We suggest Nardone's which is across the street from the hotel, basically) and you never have to take a cab anywhere. You're down the street from the train station (literally). The kitchen does get to be a little crowded after 9 a.m., but we were lucky enough to be getting up earlier than the rest of the people and didn't usually have to deal with it. The breakfast is good: croissants, muffins, cereal, some lunch meats and (canned) fruits, as well as a cappuccino/espresso machine, and it's all included in the price. You can't beat that! I've stayed in other hotels where they charged you for breakfast. Overall, a good hotel, with a great location and can't be beat for the money!
“chilchi”
Excellent location, five minutes from train station. Friendly staff Excellent choice of breakfast - for the price of the hotel The only thing to say is that when wanting to extend the stay reception wanted to charge more so we just exteded it through Expedia and got a better deal!
