“Probably the Best 3-Star Hotel in Dubrobnik”
This is a great hotel for people who don't need an elevator and an on-site swimming pool (it's across the street on the premises of a related hotel). It is definitely worth the extra cost to get a sea view room -- much quieter and a million dollar view of a very picturesque bay and the nearby islands in the Adriatic Sea. Housekeeping was excellent, and the free breakfast provided good variety and more than enough quantity. Dining room menu is limited but food was good. We had a hiccup at check-in. The hotel was overbooked and they directed us to a hotel that was not as nice and 2 blocks from the beach. Expedia intervened and we returned to the Vis the next day. I would gladly stay at this hotel again, but I would call in advance to make sure my reservation would be honored at first check-in.
“Go for a sea view”
Recommend asking for sea view - made a great difference. Breakfast was nothing special, but the view makes up for it. Very relaxing.
“Vis rocks - we miss it already!”
We have recently returned from a 5 night stay at Hotel Vis and had a fantastic time. The hotel was exactly what we needed and a good value 3 star. It is in a brilliant location right on the beach where the sea is really clear and very warm. It is only a ten minute bus ride from the old town which is really impressive and has lots of nice restaurants. Breakfast at Vis was fine and the kind you would expect in a hotel of this rating - hot food was available but it was predominantly cold meats, pastries, cereal and fruit. We liked to fill up at breakfast then snack during the day before our main meal in evening - breakfast here was more than adequate for this. It was also lovely to sit outside on the covered terrace to eat as the views over the bay are great. I would describe our time in Dubrovnik as a beach holiday during the day and really nice city break in the evening. Hotel Vis was clean, comfortable and if you are looking for a hotel to use as base for your time in Dubrovnik then I would thoroughly recommend it.
“Good Location”
Clean rooms cool in very hot weather. Enjoyed eating in the open with excellent views. Staff helpful.
“Pretty Good Hotel”
This is a pretty good hotel. The staff was helpful and the room was clean and pretty good size. The public bus stops right in front of the hotel and is a 15 minute ride to the old town.

“True Croatian Experience”
We stayed in Hotel Vis from July 12- July 15 2008. The Hotel is situated on a beautiful beach with crystal clear water. Room with a sea view is a must, you could see Cruiseships from your window. The hotel itself is "Class B" but very clean. They have a restaurant that is reasonably priced and the food is good. At night they had live music, just georgeous! The bus ride to Old Town of Dubrovnik was only 10 minutes from the hotel.

The hotel was ok but I have been in better 3* hotels. Not too many steps to climb each day and the breakfasts were adequate, cold meats, cheese, eggs cereal and fruit. I found the staff polite and helpful but if was certainly quiet in the evenings, very few people in the bar and really no atmosphere at all. We walked around the bay about 500yards and there was always people sitting having a meal or a drink outside and it was more lively. I must admit my bed was extremely comforable and if its only somewhere to lay your head then it fine. If I were to go back then I would certainly try somewhere different

OK room, good beach just outside and good bus service for Dubrovnik. Only minus point was the price.
