    Croatia Hotel Guide

Croatia is situated at the crossroads of the Mediterranean, Central Europe, and Balkans. Known as one of the top places for sailing and yachting in the world, the country also draws tourists into its historically rich capital city of Zagreb. Most hotels in Croatia are situated in the national capital although visitors will find that rooms are available through Expedia in cities and towns throughout this developing country. Nearly half of all Croatians speak English, so visitors will have plenty to talk about with their hosts.

Tourism makes up 20 percent of Croatia's economy, and many goods and services are dedicated to the tourism trade. Most visitors to the country stay within or near the Adriatic coast, visiting Dubrovnik as well as smaller coastal resorts. Inland, Zagreb is by far the most popular destination for travellers. About 15 percent of the tourists to Croatia come seeking the natural beauty and unique species of marine, terrestrial, and plant life.

Much of Croatia has a mild and rainy climate. Croatia hotels typically feature great views to take in the spectacular scenery of the cities and countryside as well as the coastline. Travellers looking for a discount on their trip might consider Croatia hotel packages that include dining services and shuttle service to popular destinations. Zagreb offers public transportation, which makes prices for a vacation in this city affordable for most any traveller.

Croatia has some of the richest biodiversity in Europe thanks to its geographic location. From underground caves to the maritime areas, visitors can see unusual breeds of horses, sheep, and even bats. Tourists interested in this natural beauty can visit Plitvice Lakes National Park, which is a World Heritage Site. A cheap Croatia hotel deal combined with visiting these amazing natural attractions makes for an inexpensive trip abroad.

Ranked as the 18th most popular tourist destination in the world, Croatia offers some of the best amenities at its hotels. Travellers looking for cheap hotel deals in Croatia should consider choosing off-peak travel times such as the fall and winter when rates are competitive and reservations are more available on Expedia. Many Croatia hotel deals include optional sightseeing tours around the capital as well as through other areas of special significance and historical interest. To book a sightseeing tour, visitors should plan in advance.

    "Superb hotel, superb Dubrovnik."
Recently stayed at the Excelsior in Dubrovnik for four nights b&b. Got a great deal on the stay as this hotel is very expensive and would have been out of our reach. Perfectly positioned just outside the Old town opposite Lokrum Island. Our room faced Lokrum and gave great views of the Old town from the balcony. A good time to go as well as it was quiet without all the cruise ships visiting and the weather was warm with no need for a coat. There is such a lot to see just within the walls of the Old town without travelling around (even though we did) be it museums, churches, walking the wall and the labrynth of narrow streets and alleys. No shortage of places to eat and drink and no shortage of steps which you can't avoid if you wan't to see it all. Some of the restaurants can be a little expensive but on the whole on a par with the U.K. in a decent restaurant. The Croatian wines are good and the Croatian people are very friendly. The city was clean with very little rubbish if any and no beggars down and outs. As it is only the start of the season and quiet we did get mithered a bit by touts for restaurants but not too bad. Very fortunate with the weather which always helps. Would recommend a visit to the Hotel and Dubrovnik to anyone.

"Beautiful grounds and pool, near the beach"
We stayed in probably the cheapest rooms in the hotel so they weren't super fancy but they were clean and very comfortable and quite frankly we weren't there to stay in the room. The hotel is about a 15min walk from Hvar Town down a very pleasant and beautiful path along the beach. There is a public beach below the hotel but honestly I preferred to stay on the hotel grounds. The pool was gorgeous - an infinity pool on the top level with a waterfall into the lower level. There was also a water slide going into the lower level. Palm trees and flowers surround you everywhere. Lounge chairs are provided and there is a swim up bar and small covered tables/chairs for eating by the pool. Breakfast is included in your stay and the buffet was pretty extensive and has a lovely view of both the grounds and the neighboring islands. We went into town for lunch/dinner but I imagine the food at the hotel was probably very good, since we enjoyed the breakfast. For those who care, the WiFi worked pretty well and there were a fair number of tv channels offering programs from different countries. The staff was very pleasant and the hotel lobby beautiful. The only minor thing I can say against the hotel is that it is so big you may have to walk for several minutes and take multiple elevators to get from the pool to your room, depending on where you are staying, but it's a pleasant walk and like I said, the place is beautiful I personally didn't mind.

"Will use this hotel again when I return to Hvar"
Hotel is located in a great location... steps away from the main city strip but far enough from the night life to allow you to get a good nights sleep if you need it. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very helpful, very accomodating, and courteous. In the event issues with your room arise, they will make every effort to fix it as quickly as possbile. Oh... and the view from the hotel room is to die for. I will definitely stay at this hotel again when in Hvar.
