Beautiful Cabin At Peter Hope Lake, Near Merrit / Kamloops / Quilchena/

Well-stocked and beautifully furnished cabin in the woods. Perfect for a true Canadian retreat, peace-and-quiet vacation, with access to two swimming docks, hiking and biking trails, hunting grounds and some of the best trout fishing around! Located at the Peter Hope Resort, a community of 30 cabins in gated acreage with a full-time caretaker on site. Cabin sleeps 10 people comfortably over three floors; perfect for up to two families with children. Pets are welcome. Great in all four seasons. The lake freezes over in the winter and you can enjoy pond hockey, x-country skiing and snowshoeing right outside the door. In the fall, this cabin is great for hunting trips, cozy Thanksgiving dinners and family scavenger hunts in the fresh air. Spring and summer, enjoy swimming, sun tanning, the numerous trails for ATV's and mountain bikes, lakeside and hillside hiking, kayaking, and of course, fishing and fly fishing. It's been a wonderful family place for us, for many years. Check out this short film from summer, 2016

Lovely Retreat
Our family had a wonderful week at Peter Hope Lake. It’s located in a lovely quiet “neighbourhood” of cabins with a little playground that our kids enjoyed. We went out on the ATVs nearly every day and never ran out of fun trails and lakes to discover. The large deck was perfect for relaxing morning coffee and games in the evenings. We did miss the lack of a beach area but it was clearly specified in the listing that there were swimming docks only, so that’s on us!! The docks themselves are well maintained and we had fun swimming off of them. Jason was very easy to communicate with and answered all questions immediately. Be aware that you need to pack out your garbage and for large groups like ours storage of said garbage can be tough by the end of the week, would suggest bringing a extra critter-proof garbage can ! Highly recommend this lovely place!

Family trip
We had a fantastic time at the cabin! It was well stocked, very clean, and the host was very easy to get a hold of. The layout of the cabin was great, plenty of bedrooms, fun rec area downstairs, beautiful view from the deck. The lake was easily accessible and the kids had lots of fun! We would definitely return again.

Great cabin....
Had a great time at the cabin with our family of 10. The cabin is exactly like the photos,no surprises.Beautifully decorated, lots of room, very spacious deck to sit back and enjoy the view and adults to chill out and relax. . The layout of the cabin was great. The Kitchen was well equipped with everything you could think of. Lots of towels and extra bedding if needed. Nice to have a washer and dryer too. The kids were jacked that all could sleep in one room with the double bunk beds. 3 nice size bedrooms with queen beds. We fished(even caught a few),kayaked, paddle boarded and swam off the dock. Fun times had by all. We were disappointed with the WIFI and cell phone service that at times was almost nonexistent. Some updated equipment would be helpful. Jason was easy to get a hold of. Had an issue that was quickly resolved. Hope to come back next year. Thanks for sharing the cabin.

Great cabin, great location!
Our family of ten finally had a holiday together after two plus years of vaccine rules. This was an ideal cabin and location for us. The cabin is spacious, fitted with every thing you need from kitchen to bathroom to the fire pit. The sun deck allowed all of us to enjoy the lake view and to relax together. The lake kept the kids busy all day, the guys busy fishing while our wives enjoyed a good book and beverage. The mountain bike rides range from easy to a good work out surrounded with beautiful scenery. All our meals we prepared in the spacious well equipped kitchen and enjoyed together at the large dinning room table. Later in the evening the kids headed downstairs to the rec room to play games while the adults chatted away the evening in the large high vaulted living room. Total relaxing Holiday for the entire family! Thanks Jason for sharing your special retreat! Phil

Peaceful vacation July 2022
The cabin was clean and spacious for 10 people and 2 dogs. The lake view from the cabin was priceless. The kids had fun swimming and our dads enjoyed fishing. When we arrived, Jason was there to show us around. He was kind, informative and easy to reach for questions. It was nice to get away from it all and have a relaxing week!

Lakeside Getaway
Some necessary pieces of information were left out of the check-in instructions —turnoff to Peter Hope Lake resort is unmarked. Signage shows “private drive” and ‘narrow road, no turnaround’. So it was hard to be certain this was the correct spot to turn off. We initially didn’t take this unmarked road for fear we’d get stuck at a dead end with no ability to turn around —driveway is quite steep and deeply rutted; a 4WD is necessary to get in and out (you aren’t able to use the neighbour’s smooth, gently sloping entry) —no code for the lockbox to get the key to enter the home —no password for the internet and no cell service made it challenging to get in touch with the owner These pieces of information would have been good to know prior to arrival —LOTS of stairs inside and out. This would be a major issue for those with limited mobility. —(again) no cell service and no landline —instructions written on cell phone booster (which works sporadically) were worn off and only partly legible. It says wait for a green light but the best we ever got was a yellow light and 95% of the time it was off or red. —an instruction booklet for the house would be helpful —bring your own firewood/kindling/tinder for the fireplace Some surprises —multiple game systems like Xbox, PlayStation but none worked —a large quantity wet laundry left in the dryer —the King bed was a good 3’ tall so any one under 6’ tall needs a step to get into bed The best parts of the stay —bright and airy —lots of windows and high ceilings —baseboard heaters throughout —plenty of hot water —we found the drinking water fine —dishwasher, microwave, ice maker in the fridge door —stylish decor: a beautiful mix of Canadiana, antiques and cabin themes —lots of board games —wood burning fireplace —directly on the lake —resort was virtually empty when we were there —firepit outside with plenty of seating —dog friendly —multitude of wildlife—bird songs and deer —probably great fishing, you could see fish jumping right off shore —foosball and ping pong tables —plenty of dishes and cookware —bathrooms on every level —5 bedrooms with 10 beds —crisp linens with a selection of comfy pillows —Owner was exceptionally accommodating and generous —a tranquil place both quiet and relaxing in mid June Thank you for a peaceful stay
