Peru Hotels

The best thing about the hotel is the proximity to the Main Square, about 4 blocks. The only hotel I've visited where you have to take up your own luggage. The room was ok although there was no mini fridge. The worst part about this hotel is the fact that they lock the doors after midnight. In our case we arrived late at night a couple of times to find that the doors were locked, the lobby empty and the lights off. There was no doorbell and we had to wait until the person in charge, who was sleeping, got up to open after about 5 minutes in the street in a deserted street.

CONVENIENCE! Everything you want or need was close by, restaurants, attractions, banks, market and shops. The service and staff was great. Breakfast everyday at the hotel was delicious to get our day started. Our room was kept clean every day. No air conditioner but it was comfortable with the fan on. We stayed for 9 days, so it was a bargain for what we got. We will stay here again!

Old charming hotel with Spanish style central courtyard in great location, the staff is super friendly. Yes, it is shared bathrooms, the location is great, the charm of the building is outstanding. (A bit of Lima centro advice: I recommend visiting the city in the early morning hours (when the thieves are sleeping rather than late at night.)

We stayed just one night at Sumaq as a bit of a splurge. I am so glad I did. We traveled as a family of 7 from grandparents to 1-year-old. It was a very convenient and efficient hotel. Hotel staff met is at the train station and transported our luggage to the hotel. We were greeted and informed of hotel schedule and services. We gave them our money for our bus ticket for us and then we waited at the hotel at 6 AM the next morning for the bus to pass by. Someone raidoed as it neared and we stepped outside for our adventure, very convenient. The room was very clean, large and beds were comfortable. We enjoyed their ceviche/pisco class and quechua class, at 2 PM. Dinner and breakfast are included and were very good. Our luggage was waiting for us at the train station when we arrived at the strain station for our return. Very professional. Beautiful.

Conveniently located to the train station,shops, and bus station. Simple but traditional breakfast. Staff was very friendly. Overall, a nice, new, clean hotel.

We came to Aguas Calientes for one reason: to see Machu Picchu. The hotel was comfortable and the staff was great in helping us figure out the bus situation and schedule for the day. They kept our bags while we visited Machu Picchu and brought them to the train station once we were ready to board. Great service!
