As the only full service beachfront hotel in the Charleston area- Tides Folly Beach features 132 classically appointed oceanfront guest rooms, each with either one king-size bed or two double beds. Our Oceanfront Inn Rooms feature private Juliette balconies while our Beachfront Rooms feature semi-private patios with exclusive access to our pool and beach. Every guest of Tides Folly Beach is guaranteed a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean. Our on-site restaurant, BLU, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day with a special brunch on Sundays and the outdoor tiki bar is the perfect spot for a cold afternoon beverage. If a tasty beverage is not your cup of tea sneak on over to the Sugar Shack for a sweet treat. The outdoor pool is heated year round. Guests of Tides Folly Beach may also take advantage of our off street parking, fitness center, business center and complimentary wireless internet. Room Amenities
Rooms
Your classically appointed room will feature either one king bed or two double beds. Your bathroom comes complete with granite countertops, upgraded bath amenities and a curved shower rod for extra bathing space. Also featured in your room will be a coffee maker, iron and ironing board, hair dryer-radio alarm clock with MP3 plug, mini fridge and complimentary wireless internet. You will enjoy the scenic sunrises from your private oceanfront Juliette balcony. All guest rooms at Tides Folly Beach are non-smoking. A fee of $150 will be charged if smoking occurs in the room.

Dining
BLU Restaurant and Beach Bar serves contemporary, coastal cuisine and small plates perfect for tasting. BLU serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Room service is available to all guests of the Tides Folly Beach. BLU recently adopted an extensive Sunday brunch and includes several food stops including an omelets station, carving station, fresh buffet and Bloody Mary buffet. BLU is open daily from 7am-11am for breakfast, 11am-5pm for lunch and 5pm-9pm for dinner. Room services is available at the same times for each meal period. In the summer months the restaurant will stay open until 11pm. Reservations are welcome and recommended. Prices range from $5 - $30 a plate.
Entertainment
Saturday nights, BLU Restaurant transforms into Club BLU. With the musical stylings of DJ Moo-Moo, the restaurant becomes Folly Beach’s premier dance club. Friday nights feature various musicians at our outdoor Beach Bar.
The four block strip leading down Center Street to Tides Folly Beach is at the very heart of Folly Island. Anything from local bands, to social clubs to street performers will likely be found in this area of town. For the more cultured of Folly visitors, there are theatres and art galleries only a short walk away. When you leave Folly Beach, the pace hastens but only a little as this is the Deep South! Downtown Charleston with its theatres, carriage rides, clubs, tourist attractions, houses, museums, parks and shops is only 9 short miles from Folly Beach.
Recreation
There is no shortage of recreation on Folly Beach. Jet skis, beach chairs and umbrellas are available on property. Surfing lessons, parasailing, and charter boat outings are all available on the island along with the County Park. Lounge by the heated outdoor pool or grab a fishing pole and head down the Folly Beach Pier. A fitness center, private beach and on-site Sugar Shack and souvenir stand are also featured at the hotel.Tides Folly Beach is centrally located and within easy walking distance of all Folly Beach restaurants-clubs and shops.

“Great time at TheTides”
The Tides was a perfect location to spend a few days before going downtown to Charleston Place to finish out the week. I believe it's an old Holiday Inn that's been nicely renovated. Right on the beach, close to everything in downtown Folly, and it has a great restaurant & beach-side bar on site. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, especially Jay who we met in the parking lot as we arrived and Morgan, the bar tender who gave us all kinds of insights on what to do. Folly was a fun little town with a relaxing atmosphere, fun restaurants & bars and a cool vibe. Definitely would go back!

Tides is a very nice location right on the beach... dinning is within walking distanace if your not interested in dinning at the hotel. a bar at the back of the hotel and at the beach is nice. and the rooms are very nice as well.
“Lovely stay at the Tides Folly Beach”
For our 3-night stay in Charleston, we decided to stay at Folly Beach instead of in Charleston proper. We selected the Tides Folly Beach Hotel: it was a great decision! Not only were we just minutes by car from historic Charleston, we had the added benefit of viewing the beach each morning and evening from our room. The staff were helpful and the hotel was clean and lovely; the beds were the most comfortable hotel beds we'd ever slept in. The onlt downside was no coffeeshop onsite, but there were places just a short walk away to get coffee and breakfast. Make sure to check out Bowens island Restaurant, just a short drive away.
“Ideal beach vacation”
With the single exception of slow, noisy elevators the Tides proved to be everything I could want in a beach resort. The service was great, the location excellent, the cleanliness and room were wonderful. We hated to leave. They made us feel very welcome.

“Great place for a family to stay!”
This hotel has a great beach and pier attached. The views are amazing! The kids, and adults, loved the candy store in the lobby. The pool was also nice - heated, so when it got cool by the ocean, you could stay warm swimming there. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful in helping us with directions or ideas for where to visit. They were also helpful in getting our boogie boards shipped back. The rest of the staff throughout the facility were courteous and always friendly. The attached restaurant had an awesome kid's menu (mac and cheese - yum) but the regular menu was a little pricey. However, there were other casual dining, reasonably priced restaurants within 2 blocks. The hotel was within 30 minutes of any attraction we went to see in Charleston. It was great to see the sights during the day and come back and relax at the beach in the afternoon and evenings. The only semi-downer was we were on the ninth floor and the wi-fi didn't reach to our room. They said they have been working on it, though. However, being disconnected in a place like this was fine with me! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again! Thanks, Tides Folly for making our first family trip to the ocean a great one!
