“Loved it!”
Beautiful hotel, nice rooms. Love the historic value and history of this hotel. Would stay here again
“Brian”
Hotel was great for location and cleanliness. Be aware you have to park in parking deck with a daily charge though is is discounted with room key hotel was very clean was very quiet even with a wedding party and a reunion in town.
“good location nice atmosphere”
We enjoyed our stay at the Francis Marion. The room was clean, quite large, and in a good location. We were able to walk to the College of Charleston, the Museum Mile and the King St. shopping area. The staff was friendly and helpful. We'd stay there again, but we're off to new places.
“Unbeatable on Saturdays - across from Farmer's & Art Market”
This is a stately hotel, renovated with care, and staffed by polished and attentive professionals. The restaurant is average but convenient for a quick salad or she-crab soup after returning from the theater (I was in town to attend the Spoleto Festival). Starbucks in the lobby was very popular. The one draw-back to the hotel room was the air conditioning unit that was a fan in a convector so there was no escaping the sound of mid-level white noise while the air was on. There was no other option either because the windows were sealed shut. Overall, perfect location and only a 20-minute walk east to the French Quarter for finer dining.
“Francis Marion Hotel 2011 after Christmas”
Great location. Parked the car and walked to everyplace.
“Historical experience with modern amenities”
Amazing central location, everything is in walking distance. The hotel itself is an amazing historical experience with all the modern amenities.
“Great stay.”
The temp in the room was a bit warm (changing the thermostat didn't seem to hello). Otherwise, a perfect stay.
“Great location.”
The only downside of my stay was there was no fridge in the room. Best parts of my stay was extremely comfortable bedding, great location and hospitable hotel staff.
“Beautiful historic building in a good location.”
We traveled to Charleston with our three young children and the Francis Marion was a great choice for our one-night stay. I loved the mixture of the historic features of the building with the modern touches you would find at any other mid-upscale hotel. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. Would definately return, perhaps for a romantic weekend away. Also, the location of the Hotel was great if you want to do a walking tour of downtown.
“I would stay here again.”
I was celebrating my first anniversary and the hotel was awesome. They upgraded our room to the penthouse and the concierge made our stay wonderful by arranging great site seeing trips then surprised us with chocolate dipped strawberries. Overall it was a great hotel and staff that made my anniversary very special.
