“Awesome location for relaxing trip & exploring”

Gorgeous beach! Best on the Island! Soft white sand on beach and in ocean. No sea weed areas in ocean. Plenty of chairs on beach and pool area. Towels available for hotel only. Beds hard but ask for cushion to place on bed. Hotel working on this change. Staff very accomodating to meet our personal needs/requests to make us happy and comfortable. Moved us to different room because of noisey neighbors last day of stay. Nice upgrade with several apologies from hotel staff. Personal bottled water cooler in room included in price. Hot water and pressure not a problem. Island is very safe for travelers. Rental of golf carts is suggested to see Island. Taxi available however cost more money going out of town that going in town. Bargain with them on cost, espcially if coming in to town. Food is awesome! Plenty of options to meet your taste. No fast food chains on Island. Thank goodness for that!! Places for visit Garaffon park, turtle park, light house. Mexican Naval base on Island. No pictures can be taken.

“Would definitely go back”

Stayed in a one bedroom penthouse condo (703) in Ixchel 2 with my husband and 8 year old daughter. It was very clean and tidy, plenty of hot water for showering, plenty of towels, 5 gallon jug of drinking water was in the kitchen for us, and yes the bed was hard but that works for me, slept great the entire trip...except for Saturday night when a near by beach bar (Tarzana) had party music blarring until 4am, no joke! The hotel did give all guests notice that that would be the case and offered ear plugs on request. The only down fall of the room was that the jacuzzi heater did not work and the staff was unable to fix it so in return the gave us a credit for the difference of what we spent to upgrade to the jaccuzi room. The staff was very friendly, always greeted everyone with a smile and did whatever they could to meet any needs/requestes that we had.

“Excellent Location on Isla Mujeres”

Best location on North Beach. Ixchel has the BEST beach on North Beach. Staff is outstanding. You will not be disappointed!

“We loved Ixchel, hated the beds”

this hotel is in the best location for beach, restaurant and bar access. We read the reviews, and I did not put much thought into the complaints of hard beds, but they are right! Other than this, we loved every minute of our trip. One word of caution, avoid the restaurant Bamboo. It is terrible.

“Great place to stay”

Ixchel is a great place, I would definitely go back. It's right on the beach and while we reserved an ocean front room it turned out all rooms have great views. It was also very clean and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

The Ixchel Beach Hotel was wonderful. We had a penthouse room which was very spacious. The views were spectacular and the location was excellent. We will stay here again when returning to Isla Mujeres. The staff were all very courteous and friendly. The beach was beautiful - as well as the sunsets. Perfect location, perfect vacation!!!

“Second time going, already planning our next visit!”

Excellent hotel, right on the north beach of beautiful Isla Mujeres. Staff were very helpful and friendly, clean rooms, very nice pool and perfect access to the beach. This is our second time at Ixchel Beach Hotel and we are already planning our next visit. Stayed in an excellent 2 bedroom suite with full kitchen and all amenities, lovely balcony overlooking the pool area, beach and ocean. Food and drink service at 'Como-No?' is great and the strawberry Margaritas were the best we had on the island. You can take a snorkling tour by boat or even swim with the fishes just off shore, explore the Mayan ruins at the end on the island and go beach combing. Close walk to everything you need on the island, restaurants, shops, pharmacies, grocery store, etc. Enjoy this little piece of paradise!

“The beach was the most beautiful around.”

It was about a 15 minute walk on cobblestone streets from the ferry to the hotel. This island is an authentic mexican island with all you would expect. There is alot of construction going on next door. People from Cancun actually come to the island to use the beach at our hotel. The rooms were clean, service was great. The swimming pool was 6 feet outside our patio and then the sand of the beach started at the end of pool. There were topless sunbathers on this beach - my 10 &14 year old sons got a real eyefull. Golfcarts & mopeds are available to rent so you can explore the island of Isla Mujuerus. The only draw back to this hotel was the fact that the island is only accessable by 20 minute ferry ride at $6.50 per round trip. I had a large group so this got quite costly.
