Everything about the hotel was good. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. The restaurant had a good menu we really enjoyed ourselves. The bedroom was a little outdated but very clean and caused us no issues at all with comfy beds. However we were told by Expedia we could pay on arrival at the hotel. I sent my share of the cost to my sister but was charged through my bank account in uk currency. My sister arrived at the hotel after we were charged and we were promised a refund after she paid in Euros. As promised I was refunded but in Euros which meant I lost £33 in the exchange. Expedia sent messages and I also spoke to a human who said we could pay at the hotel. Nobody has been able to help me before and after this problem. Very disappointing.

The gym was a mini-gym; only dumbbells, a treadmill, exercise bike and kettle bells. It would have been hugely beneficial to at least have a bench. I was not informed prior to arrival, either whern booking or even days before that the pool would not be available, and had to ask at reception if I could use it before I was told it would not be possible. In addition, I booked a double room which ended up as two twin beds. The breakfast range could have been better (and warmer). However, the staff were very friendly upon arrival, and everyday upon returning to the room, the room was clean with fresh towels.

Highly recommend. Very clean and such a lovely aestheic and decor! Staff were very helpful. Location of this hotal is perfect and is well connected to close by transport. Thank you to the team for making our stay welcoming!

Very good location but hotel amenities felt cheap. Bed sheets felt like paper. Check in took a long time.

Location is excellent with easy access to bus and restaurants. Room is large and bright and comfortable. Breakfast was lacklustre. Menu is unchenged for our 4 days stay, ost disappointing is the dry quiche with undercooked potato masquerading as Spanish potato omlette, a popular breakfast item throughout Spain, Assortment of menu items is not generrous. For some reason, the faucets in the tub and wash basin are both loose.

One of the Best Hotel Experiences I’ve Ever Had I’ve stayed at many luxury hotels around the world, and Hospes Palau de la Mar is easily one of the top five hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The property itself is beautiful, the rooms are excellent, and the food is outstanding. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is the service. Every single employee we interacted with was exceptional—from the front desk staff, to the bellmen, bartenders, restaurant team, and housekeeping staff. Everyone was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable. The level of hospitality here is what luxury service should be. The staff consistently put the guest first and handled every request with professionalism and empathy. I had a rental car during my stay, and every time I needed it, the process was effortless. The team always had it ready and waiting, making transportation completely stress-free. Another detail that stood out was housekeeping. Unlike many hotels that only clean rooms during limited hours, the staff here were incredibly accommodating and available whenever needed. What impressed me most was the consistency. Every department delivered the same exceptional level of service throughout our stay. Beautiful hotel, incredible staff, outstanding food, and genuine hospitality. If you’re visiting Valencia, I cannot recommend Hospes Palau de la Mar highly enough.

Beautiful hotel! The staff were incredibly sweet and helpful, the location was fantastic, and the property has such a unique charm. The only minor downside was that the shower floor was quite slippery, so it’s something to be mindful of. Overall, we had a wonderful stay.

It was a beatiful ancient hotel with very spacious and romantic room. Really 5 star level

Lovely property and fabulous staff. The only draw back was long waits at the reception desk. I think in high season it could get very crowded, especially around the pool area. Perfect location close to town but quiet.
