I can't complain about the room, it was nice overlooking the garden, and the breakfast was excellent. The restaurant was closed though for 3 of the 4 days I was there. Which wasn't great as there aren't really any other places to eat around there. one night I had to order a takeaway in which was quite expensive.

This was by far the most personalized stay we’ve ever had at a hotel. We were personally shown to the room and all amenities were explained. The amazing staff thought of every detail. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Salzburg!

Hotel Stein has an amazing location. You walk out the lobby door, then cross the bridge and you are in Old Town Salzburg. We found the ease of the location to be one of the best parts! We had a city view double room. It was nice. The shower and bathroom were spacious.
The reason for only 4 stars is the breakfast staff at the restaurant on the roof. Our breakfast was included (paid for), however because it was included we weren’t allowed to sit on the outside or in the shade when we went to breakfast. The staff was rude when we asked why. They said it was because the tables with the view were “reserved”- there were hardly any people there. We would have enjoyed our breakfast more if we were allowed to sit in the shade- but again- reserved.
The hotel was great, but the rooftop bar and restaurant were disappointing because of the way we were treated.
