(1,001 reviews) We stayed at Alyeska Resort for my husband’s birthday, and overall it was an amazing experience, especially the hydrotherapy spa. If you’re considering going, do it. We booked a Signature King with a Mountain View and arrived before noon to check in. The front desk wasn’t able to check us in early and recommended we go ahead and enjoy the hydrotherapy circuit since we already had reservations for the day. The spa is open from 10 AM to 9 PM, and honestly, it’s the highlight of the resort. The hot/cold therapy experience, relaxation areas, and scenery made it feel like a true getaway. We could have stayed there all day (and almost did). When we returned to check in, we hit a small snag, the room we prepaid through Expedia (Mountain View) wasn’t showing correctly in their system. Initially, we were offered a room without the view we paid for, which was frustrating, especially since this was meant to be a celebration. After speaking with the manager, who was thoughtful, patient, and genuinely helpful, we were upgraded to a high floor with the correct room type and a beautiful mountain view. That gesture absolutely made the stay feel special, and I appreciated the empathy and willingness to resolve the issue. Food-wise, we tried a few of the restaurants onsite and everything was consistently delicious. Service around the resort, from spa staff to restaurant servers, was warm and welcoming. (1,000 reviews) We stayed here for one night as we traveled through Alaska. We were put into the historical wing which is codeword for hasn't been renovated or cleaned in decades. The room was full of dust, did not have hot water, sheets and pillows cannot say how clean they were, and the bathroom/shower is shared in the hallway. The shared bathroom/shower we were aware ahead of time. The photos are certainly misleading, and the price was not worth the accommodations. Other hotels are cheaper with better quality. Staff could not explain where additional parking was, just said it was up the road, but at night there is no clear signage. They said to just street park instead, but need to move the car by 8am. The surrounding areas of hotel seward are nice in the town.
