Caribbean Cheap Vacations

Our overall stay had some positives, but there were a few major issues that really affected our experience. First, I want to mention that some members of the staff around the resort were genuinely kind and helpful. Housekeeping and a few employees in the common areas were friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, our experience at the steakhouse near the buffet was extremely disappointing. The service there was awful from the moment we sat down. Our server clearly did not want to be there and was very rude to our table the entire time. It felt like we were an inconvenience rather than guests. The food was also very poor. The salmon was served completely burned, and overall the meal was one of the worst we had during the trip. Another serious concern was the lack of security in the disco. There was no one monitoring the crowd or checking for people who were clearly overly intoxicated. On top of that, many people were smoking inside the club, and no staff members were addressing it. The environment felt unmanaged and uncomfortable. While parts of the resort and some staff members were pleasant, the poor restaurant experience and lack of oversight in the disco made the stay far less enjoyable than it should have been.

The staff was amazing! Our room was always cared for and the mini bar was full. If there was a question or problem it was solved immediately by using the Riu app. I was a bit disappointed by the noise while on the balcony from machines running at ground level to keep everything going. It the ocean view was perfect! The food, restaurants and pool were great. It is not the largest Riu we have been at, but we had a lovely time.

Bahia is a very nice hotel with so many things going on—you can never be bored! There are great concerts in the lobby, on the beach, and by the pool. Every night feels like a party. The entertainment team is wonderful—very friendly and always full of energy. They organize many activities like yoga, pool aerobics, biking in the pool, dance lessons, and lots of games. They speak very good English and always have nice conversations with guests. They are very intelligent and professional people. Special thanks to Edgar , Luis, Wilson and his brother ( I forgot his name ) and Rocky , Rolando and Gabriel and also all other stuff. They all work very hard to make every day fun and enjoyable for the guests. Also, Yamar, the man who prepares pineapple and coconut fruit by the pool, is very friendly. And Juan from the Italian restaurant provided excellent and very professional service. I also had a massage at the spa and it was wonderful. The ladies were very professional and made the experience very relaxing. Thank you all for making our stay so special!

Really liked the location, and the views.!! Property could use some up keep on the backside, understandably, given the wind and saltwater splashes! Still loved the property!

The whole resort is amazing. Plenty to do and see. Staff is great and always smiling. 2 adults and 1 7yrs old. Came home happy and planning our return.

I recently stayed at this resort and had a mixed experience. The property itself is beautiful, well maintained, and clearly designed to host many guests. The buffet offered a good variety of food and most dishes we tried were quite good, which was a highlight of the stay. The hotel staff were also very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience more pleasant. Their kindness and willingness to help did not go unnoticed. However, one thing that was honestly surprising—and unacceptable—was the complete lack of baby changing facilities. For a resort of this size that clearly receives many families with young children, it’s hard to understand how there isn’t a single bathroom or designated area equipped with a baby changing table. The wine included in the all-inclusive package was unfortunately very poor in quality. Another disappointment was the Thai restaurant. Because it’s difficult to get a reservation, we expected much better. The “all-inclusive” menu felt very limited and the flavor of the dishes was not particularly exceptional. One more negative point: a company operating inside the hotel approaches guests—especially those who have just arrived—to try to sell a time-sharing program. The approach feels pushy and, in my opinion, it’s not worth it. I would strongly advise other guests not to sign up.
