My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Grand Coastal. The rooms and grounds were bright and clean. Drinks and food were amazing. What made the stay extra special was the staff who are extremely friendly & helpful. Special shoutout to Tiffany at the front desk, Sandy (hostess), Robert (server) who went above and beyond. Big mention to Jashua (server) who was extremely friendly and intuitive making each dining experience special. Nothing was really within walking distance but Grand Coastal has a driver who will take you places for a fair price. Raj K took us around several times and he was extremely friendly and was a safe driver. Next time I visit Guyana we will definitely book with Grand Coastal as the service is top notch!

Several weaknesses prevent an excellent review. Staff understanding of processes and procedures related to the restaurant are inconsistent. Sometimes they insist that you sign for your free breakfast and sometimes they don’t. This is complicated by the fact that the waiters often disappeared after initial service. Additionally, room doors were difficult to open and often took several tries. Hotel staff explained the locks were new, but forced guests to deal with the problem.
