Check-in was reliant on bar staff not being busy, as no dedicated reception person. When we eventually got to the room, it had an odour of dog sweat, as it has been a heatwave, I assume that the previous occupiers had their dog with them, there is very little ventilation. The wallpaper was peeling in areas, cobwebs in the bathroom and the shower head needed cleaning and descaling. In the evening the restaurant mixed up one of our food orders, but due to the time constraints we just had to accept it. There was no attempt at an apology of any kind, just, "well that's what came through to the kitchen". Glad we only stayed one night, we will likely visit Masham again, although, I think we will look to stay elsewhere.

Very impressive amenities and so clean with a huge comfortable bed.

Lovely staff/interesting menu/good bedroom/great breakfast/other guests felt the same

The hotel was out in the countryside with excellent views over the moors. It was very clean and well cared for. Car parking was good. The room size, bed size, etc was great. One small problem - the room lighting was not very bright during the night time. The food was excellent and the staff were great. It was also a great place for walkers with great access to the countryside. I would recommend it.

Parking was limited we were lucky as there was hardly anyone else staying- this is a B&B Not a hotel and is a bit down at heel hasn’t had any investment for a while - but nice family/staff good breakfast - overpriced I’m afraid
