« Our family has always dreamed of staying at the castle, and this year we made it happen. It was everything we dreamed it would be. « At my age I have had all the presents I can ever want so to gather all the family around me was the best I have ever done. The sun shone and groups of peace wandered around, 40year old sat round the table with glasses of wine. The youngsters played pool downstairs. « Accommodation is in well furnished self catering or modern rooms. This is not a hotel. Access and parking is convoluted and is not ideal for those with mobility problems. Rooms are accessed via a staircase. Room to room noise is evident and Saturday night is lively across the road until midnight. Breakfast is served at the 1176 restaurant and is very good with friendly staff and good locally sourced ingredients. There is nearby street parking for blue badge holders but would not recommend...
