The staff at the Tides Inn were very friendly. The rooms were spacious and the breakfast was amazing!

The hotel did not have power when we arrived for our 3 night stay. We’d stayed here previously and our stay was excellent. We know the power outage was not the hotels fault but felt they could have done more to inform guests. With no place to eat and everything shut we ate chips the first night. Some guests had lighting in the hall and a place to charge their phone but our end of the hotel did not. After we’d checked out (2 days early) we overheard a staff person telling another guests the restaurant would be open 5-8! Had we known this we may have stayed with somewhere to get a meal. I don’t expect this is the first ever outage therefore felt let down.

We booked the suite that overlooked the harbor. It was spacious with a king bed, jacuzzi tub and full bathroom! There was also a fireplace, table and breakfast bar. The unit also had a refrigerator and nice coffee bar area. An issue for anyone with mobility issues is that there is no walk in shower, only a bathtub. Also, no elevator for this second floor unit.

We absolutely would come back to stay here. Homemade breakfast was provided, and options were made available to my husband who is dairy free, which we never expect but always appreciate. It was nice to be able to sit in the enclosed deck outside in the evening with the screen keeping the bugs out. There is also a restaurant/brewery down the road called The Rumour Mill that had great pub food and beer on tap (plus local cheeses). Nice & close to Gros Morne.
