When I showed them my driver's license (which matches the name on the booking), they refused to check me in unless I had my physical passport. I told them I've left it at home and I don't walk around Cairo with my passport for the risk of losing it. They ended up denying my stay. Expedia didn't even refund me yet. They said they'll "request" a refund from the hotel.
