The guy at reception was great - helped us check in early and upgrade our room at no cost. The building and room themselves are clean, but extremely dated. I would equate it to a cheap motel in America. Hotel is located in a good spot of Cologne that is very walkable.
Unfortunately we did end up switching hotels within a few hours of checking in because there is no AC. The hotel cannot control the heat wave that came through Europe, but man it was so incredibly unbearable to even stand in the building, let alone sleep. Cancellation policy is no refund at all even if you are cancelling additional nights in advance unfortunately.
No parking available at all like the listing says. There is a parking garage close to the cathedral that worked out well for us. About 24 euro for 24 hour parking.
They do not provide any toiletries like most hotels. No shampoo or body soap (and of course no conditioner since it’s not a thing in Europe).

No parking. We had to park blocks away in a paid parkade that was expensive.
Came for the pool but didn’t get a chance to enjoy due to our lateness, as well you have to pay extra for access to it which was not worth the 1-2 hours of potential enjoyment that we could’ve had.
We also did not feel that safe in this area of the city where the hotel was. A lot of graffiti everywhere. What appeared to be the ?homeless consuming drugs during our walk from the parkade. I would not come to this hotel again.
