The Postojna Cave is an intricate network of tunnels decorated by stalagmites and other natural features. An electric train runs through the intriguing passageways, which lead deep into the hillside before opening up at the site of a magnificent Renaissance castle. Take a guided tour of the cave system to learn about its bizarre formations. Spot the cave’s olms, which are the largest troglodytic amphibian in the world. The pink worm-like creatures live in water and can be seen in the tour’s aquarium. Marvel at the incredible cave formations illuminated by brightly colored lights as your train travels past. Cave tours are held every hour from morning until early evening in summer. Note that the tours are a little less frequent during winter. Most of the tour is taken on foot, so ensure you wear suitable shoes for walking. The Postojna Cave is on the outskirts of Postojna village in western Slovenia. Buses provide a connection between the town’s main train station and the cave's entrance. (85 reviews) The hotel is in good condition and is recently built. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. However we did notice was there was no in room coffee machine or option. The workout gym was poorly furnished and there was a seminar room with glass window looking into the gym space. I intended to use the sauna but the use was an extra charge. Same with the parking which came with a fee of 29 euro. One last thing to note is that there is no food option for the hotel for dinner, and the access to restaurants is quite limited and a good walk away. The hotel staff however did call another hotel who provided a van for us to eat at their restaurant. A 15 minute drive away. Nice of them to do that but not the same as eating at the hotel itself.
